1. Pick #8, Pick #30, Mike Sweetney and Tim Thomas to Toronto for Chris Bosh and Jalen Rose

2. KT + future 1st rounder (lottery protected) to Minnesota for Trenton Hassel, Fred Hoiberg + pick #14

Comment on whether the trades are 1) feasible for the other team and 2) beneficial to the Knicks.

I would do both trades on draft day. Select Petro or Warrick with pick #14.

Leaving us with:

Petro/J. Butler (if he's even re-signed)
Bosh/M. Rose/Williams/Taylor
J. Rose/Ariza
Crawford/Hassel/Hoiberg
Marbury

As far as the trade with Toronto, it would be nice, but I doubt they are looking to move Bosh, even if it did mean getting rid of Rose. Maybe if sweetney was a more established player, but hes not. For the trade with the Wolves, they would be without a SG, although they could move wally to the 2, garnett to the 3, in order to make room for thomas at the 4. But, is it just me, or does most everyone on here overvalue KT? KT is 33, going on 34, 4yrs on his contract left. I just dont see Minny giving up so much for him, while they could sign a younger player who could give them the same as Kurt.

Obviously both these trades would benefit the knicks, but i dont see the other teams doing them.

i don't know what it is w/some of you, but Mike Sweetney really doesn't have nearly as much trade value as some of you seem to think he has...

Sweetney, a #8 pick, #30 pick & TT? come on guys...if you had a Chris Bosh, would you trade him away to get that back from another team? i sure as hell wouldn't...regardless of the cap savings from unloading Rose's contract, that deal isn't at all feasible from a talent standpoint...don't mean to offend w/my comments, but it's just funny to see some of these trade proposals using Sweetney as some attractive trade commodity...sorry, i just don't see other teams breaking down our door to get him.

Toronto is building their frachise around bosh, they are not trading him, and if they were it would certainly be for more than that first trade. Of course as a Knick I would do it, but i think its unrealistic.

The KT trade i would do, but I am not sure if Minny does it, especially because this is their first pick in a while, I don't think they will trade it.

Can we make one: "ridiculous trade suggestions that will never happen but make us less nervous about the draft" thread and keep all these suggestions in there?

how about a "Trade the pick" thread and a "keep the pick" thread?

Wow, I leave for one second and I see my pristine trade proposal desecrated. Hooligans.

Hello TMS. I think I know what it is with us. Here goes. When Mike Sweetney is included in a deal which includes a mid-lottery pick, a late first round pick and $16 million in potential free agent signings in 2006, he becomes a throw-in, and not the "key to the deal" (as some like to say). So, in my most humble opinion, you should relax about Sweetney - he's not the centerpiece of the action here.

And if you don't think that deal is sufficient, then you have every right to propose your own trade. And I'll toss the peanuts from the gallery. Maybe this is more to your liking:

Crawford, #8 pick, pick #30, and Tim Thomas for Bosh, Jalen Rose Aaron williams?

The simple truth is there is no one on the Knicks roster that Toronto would trade Bosh for. He is untouchable end of story.

Bosh is a rare talent the kid hasn'r even developed physically yet and he is right up there with the best power fwds in the league.

Toronto definately will not be trading Bosh.

Not so fast kemo sabe.

Crawford, Sweetney, TT, pick# 8, pick# 30 for Bosh, J Rose, and A Williams

I'm not gonna lie, I think that gets it done.

No way. Toronto will only trade Bosh for Duncan, Garnett, Lebron and maybe two or three other players. They're not trading him for draft picks and mediocre players.

16 mil in cap money potentially equals Lebron, Wade, Carmelo etc. And potential is 80% of what's bought and sold in this league. As of now, Bosh's real value is largely in potential.

Look, all I'm saying is lets sweeten the deal. Throw in the rights to Herb Williams. Let them take Norman Scott. Heck, give them the Van Gundy second rounder.
