What do you all think?

Who is worthy in next years draft? They won't tank the season, I know, but we do need a good player from the draft. I still think they should tank and go into the draft again.

Sadly, the present cast won't have to tank much to make the lottery. But, THIS TIME tank down the stretch and rest our regulars (sure, that'll happen!)
We will NEVER win with Marbury as our cameo guy.

i don't advocate starting off a season w/the sole express purpose to lose games...that's not what i mean when i say i support tanking...the reason i bring it up is because when your team is completely out of the playoff picture, it makes sense that you rest your regulars & allow your young guys to get more playing time to see what exactly it is that you have in them...that is a move with the FUTURE in mind...exactly the opposite that was done down the stretch last year, & in the 2 years prior.

actually, when Lebron James was coming out, i preferred tanking games as opposed to making the playoffs that year, but he's a once in a generation type talent...even if we hadn't gotten that 1st pick, if the Knicks had lost just a few more games that year we could have had Dwayne Wade for that matter...ah well...i been crying over that spilt milk for years now...

a few more years of this backwards style of management & i'll be livin' on a steady diet of government cheese & end up livin' in a van down by the river.

it will never happen not when mediocre vets like malik, Mo & kurt are playing 40mins a game. Just enough to win 30 something games and get another 8th pick

The Knicks aren't that smart to do what is right for them or the fans. What the fans will want and what the Knicks want are two different things. The Knicks will win just enough games next year to lose out on a top three pick. I don't see this team going anywhere next year either. Especially if Herb and KT are still around you might as well put them in the lottery but with no chance at the top pick.

People need to undestand that things ARE NOT, I repeat ARE NOT going to change until the AVERAGE fan who has a ton of money and pays for season tickets STOPS RENEWING. The fans on this board are the die-hards but I bet a small percentage own New York Knick season tickets, the people that are buying season tickets buy them becuase they want to see a basketball game in New York and Dolan knows this. He puts enough of a team together to keep the Average fan happy, anything better then a Average team for Dolan is just icing on the cake. Again, things will never change becuase the people that buy season tickets are never going to stop buying them and Dolan will keep reeling in the money.

He's not a fan. There was a caller on Mike and the Maddog today that made a good point and its one we all already know but its worth saying over and over. Guys like George Steinbrenner and Mark Cuban are the best owners a fan can get becuase when their team loses it hurts them more then it hurts their fans. Until the Knicks that stops looking at the New York Knicks as an asset and instead looks at the team as a NBA team in the capital of the Earth and that 90% of NBA players want to play in this city. Until then we gotta stick with the whomever the GM is and realize the fact that most of the time the GM has hands tied becuase while cutting payroll and tanking or whatever might be most beneficial to the team and its fans, its not beneficial to Dolans and Cablevisions investors bank accounts.

to be fair to Dolan, however much i despise him, he's not an owner that isn't willing to spend money...he's just incompetent...but i can't fault him for not spending the money necessary to get good talent...he just hasn't hired the right guy who has the right plan, or so it's been for the past several years...whether Isiah shows he has a plan or not will be determined this summer once & for all.

Yes most people on the board might disagree with your assesment but I also think this is Isiah's make or break season. If the Knicks don't turn it around this year he will be fired or run out of town. Thats why it is imperative for him to get Phil Jackson here or Larry Brown to save his job by turning this ailing franchise around fast.

yeah I agree. you need a GM who is not afraid to take chances because of the risk of getting fired. Dolan knows nothing about basketball so if this GM presented him with a plan and the light at the end of the tunnel he would by into it. Right now Isiah has given into the pressure of the fans and the media like all the GMs before him did. Isiah needs to take a deep breathe and assess this situation then presented his plan to Dolan, the media and the fans

Listen - I love you all but I think you're all going f'ing insane. It's now 2 straight days since we got our EXPECTED #8 draft slot confirmed and everyone's still having their heavy-flow days. Listen up - we're getting 2 6'10" - 7'0" athletes with our 2 first round picks. It's exactly what we need to rebuild - anyone remember that word, rebuild????? We're gonna combine our 2 young studs with Reezy, Craw, Sweets, Marbs and Maybe Jackie B. And we're gonna REBUILD THIS M.F.'ER!!!!!!! As Chris Farley would say - "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!" - is anyone with me on this?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I have found it so difficult to talk about the Knicks lately. Its just so unpleasant now. Im tired of management. Isiah has to do a miracle, and Im not kidding he has to, in order for me to have some faith in this franchise again. How can I have it? Year after year same mediocre end, even in the draft. I can't even dream about Bogut, no. I can't even dream big about a trade because its so imposible for us. Not even a coach I can dream with, because Isiah's master plan is leaving Williams here, which I don't want to happen.

Im really, really tired of the Knicks, yet, I love them. I hate this! Grr!
