What will you guys hope that Isiah does with that pick??? I know that Green will still be on the board and plenty of other talents will be there also. Would you trade the 2nd pick for 2 early first round picks from the early 10 and up????

Reason I am asking is because, I know for a fact that we will endup with the 2nd or 3rd pick tonight....

Dido, calm down on the coffee. The lottery isn't until 8:30 tonight.
We will NEVER win with Marbury as our cameo guy.

Here is a scenario for Isiah, since we are destined to win either the 2nd or 3rd pick, he should trade it to the Bobcats for their 2 early picks, especially the 10th pick that they got from Cleveland.

"Four Ping-Pong balls are selected and the combination of those balls determines the winner. Once the first three picks are announced, the final 10 draft positions are determined by record.

After Atlanta, the teams with the worst records are in order: New Orleans, Charlotte, Utah, Portland, Milwaukee, Toronto, the Knicks, Golden State, the Lakers, Orlando, the Clippers and Minnesota. The Bobcats get a couple of extra combinations because they have the rights to Cleveland's pick, which currently is 10th overall".

Let's start a new thread on each possible position the Knicks could be picking at? That way we'll have everything covered and there won't be anything to talk about after the lottery drawing tonight

Another possibility for Isiah, Penny wants to finish his career with Orlando, why not trade him for 2 years of bad contract and orlando's first round pick....???? What about Tonie Battie and their first round for Penny????

This should be called "the Lottery thread".

Isiah still has to figure out what he is gonna do with Timmy, and Penny, plus the 5 headed power fwd. If Isiah can buy both Timmy and Penny out and then trade KT and another player for players the Knicks need then it would be easier to figure out what to do in the draft.

Sounds cool but would Orlando even care to do something like that? They suck just like we do. I think they would wanna hold on to that draft pick.

It would actually be in their advantage, because the high expiring contract can do them very good next season. Yao will be available and many others.....With Josh Howard to anchor the PF position, Francis and Hill at Guards, and a warm Florida to attract many as possible, Yao would be more than happy to rejoin his main man Francis..

I'd trade the #2 and #30 for the Charlottes 3 and 13. But you could only really do that if they are super high on Marvin Williams and we make it clear we'll take him.

Hey look here, the Bobcats are hot on Williams, so we can con them on trading their 2 picks to move up...

Why would the Bobcats do that if they know the Knicks aren't high on Williams they got the 3rd pick. The Knicks would have to select Williams and then trade him to them. They are just that high on Chris Paul, and would gladly take him instead and keep their pick at 13. You will have to be ready to take Williams no matter what. It is like the Marbury and Allen trade in 96. Or the Carter and Jamison trade in 98. That's why smart GMs never show their hand and let reporters really know what they want. If there was any justice Weis would re-enter the draft, and let Tapscott take him with the 3rd pick.

i doubt that would do it. probably would have to include ariza also, or have to take back a bad contract.

Where's BRIGGS in all of this? I would love to read his oppinion on this, whether we have to draft up for Bogut, pick someone else at #2, or if we trade down and try to land Bynum as well as an additional pick.

Yikes, all this talk about the 2nd pick, the Knicks have a higher chance (17%) of dropping back a spot to the 9th pick.

The way the talent in the draft is this year, whether we get the 8th or 9th pick won't matter much. the only player that won't be in the top 3 but is probably better than anything we can get at 8 or 9 is green. Everything else is just a crap shoot. We're no better off picking 6th or 7th as we are 8th or 9th, assuming green goes 4th or 5th.
