Philly's front office waisted no time at fixing what the presume as being a huge problem. They went out of their way to satisfy AI and Webb by hiring Mo Cheek as their head coach...Isiah is waisting too much time at trying to lure Phill Jackson to N.Y. I know that he is a big name coach, but how much time must we wait around to get deceive by him??? One thing is for sure, I don't want another year of Herb Williams, because one thing that we know for sure is that he doesn't believe in developing our youth....However, I am willing to give Laimbeer a chance..

Grow some cojoles Zeke, don't try to satisfy the media or the fans, make decisions that you believe will make the Knicks a better team. After all, when it all said and done, your critics won't give a danm about you when it is time for you to get fired..

relax. it's more important to make the right decision than to make a quick decision. The season doesn't start for five months and good coaching candidates are still available

The right decision is to lockup a coach as of now, because it is important for the coach to have an imput on the type of player that he would want to coach or build a team around of to complement the talents that are already on our roster.....

Drafting decisions go hands on with GMs and coaches.

Sorry I disagree with that statement. He's already had one interview and reports are that it's Jackson that is delaying his decision. Jackson doesn't even know if he wants to coach again let alone coach the Knicks. I'm more concerned with the draft at the moment.

how can you be concern about the draft, but not the coaching vacancy that we currently have? A coach is one of the most important part of any team.. Without a good coach, I don't care if we have MJ, we still won't win. See what MJ did with the Wizzard later in his career..

I expect Isiah to have a coach in place in time for the draft. I think it's important to have a coach in place to get their imput on players Isiah would have on his draft board.

You do realize that the Sixers just made a hugde mistake? Cheeks is one of the worst coaches in the league and O'Brian was actually pretty good.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

To be considered a good coach, you have to be able to relate to your players...I don't care how good a coach is with the Xs and Os, if he can't along with the guys that will execute the designs or play-calling, etc, he will not be effective....

Because even Phil Jackson if he was the coach needs players, i.e., young and tall. The Knicks will get a coach in time that's why I'm not as concerned.

Lenny Wilkens got along well w/the Knicks players too...what does that have to do w/determining his success? good coaches like Larry Brown, Pat Riley & Phil Jackson don't achieve success from just getting along well with their players.

Right now the draft is more important. If you are a good GM you aren't taking your cues from the coach about who to draft. YOu draft the player that you think will most help the tea and you pick a coach that does the same. I understand your impatience Dider, but relax man. I check this site like 100 times a day just to see whats going on, everything seems like its moving in slow motion right now.

The draft is definitely more important at this point. There are still coaches available that need to be interviewed. From what I hear PJ is already the coach.

Lets just win this lottery first and take it from there.

I am cool with that. 2nd or 3rd is already in our back pocket, all we have to do is show up and collect that freaking card...I hope that Isiah use that pick wisely...We don't really have to draft a guy like Green, because as good as he may become, he can also be a bust. However, if we trade that draft pick for a couple of picks from the 10th and up, chances are we might end up with two players, and our chances at developing a super-star is much greater..

umm O'Brien insisted on having Webber play a Antoine role in Philly - Webber should not be a spot up jump shooter, no matter what.

it was different in Boston, he was hired while he was a freaking assistant. His relationship with the crew that was there was totally different....You have to understand, as an assistant, it is behoove that coach to be cool and friendly with stars like Pierce and Walker. He was hired as a headcoach to coach the Philly squad. He was new and did a total 360 from the way he coached in Boston...It is much easier to be a new comer and act a fool, than to be hired from the assistant coach position to replace whomever was the headcoach..

Phil will decide whether to come to the Knicks after the lotto today. If the Knicks miraculously end up with the number one then he just might say yes to the Knicks. But if the Lakers somehow get the number one then look for him to consider them over the kNicks. Any way you look at it the worst thing that can happen is Herb is back. Because the Knicks will be good enough next year to be out of the top three for the draft but bad enough to miss the playoffs, No mans land again and again and again. Last year the Knicks really lucked out with making the playoffs any other year and they are 8-10 pick in the lottery. This team really hasn't improved at all over the last 4 years any way you look at them.

The Lakers will probably offer him a part ownership and $8 million per year....He and the owner's daughter have been dating for a while now, there may be wedding in the future...Hello, it would be wise for Dr Boss to make such a move anyway...
