Man I have been wishing for the #1 for the past few lottery's....I just want us to land an impact player that helps us get W's and brings some excitement. If it happens to be the #1 then so be it. Good luck Starks, you da man if you bring home the top pick.

What a bummer. 8th pick is nice, though. I can't wait to see what happens this offseason, starting on draft night.

Nobody should be happy with the #8 pick. It is not a "good pick" we have been stuck in this range since this team started going down the tubes. We need a top 3. Oh well, maybe next year.

it's not going to happen next year...this pathetic excuse for a team will win JUST enough games to finish w/another #8-#10 lottery pick & be stuck in mediocrity for the next several years...it's just a long, perpetually pathetic cycle.

You have it figured out. I have been saying all along that getting to the 6th spot or above is the key to getting into the top 3 picks. But the Knicks are just a stupid organization there is no way around I love the Knicks but its like having a kid who isn't bright but you continue to love them because they are yours. I'm waiting on their next stupid move like going into next season with Herb and not developing their 8th pick and making him a role player by year 4 of his NBA career. I no longer think the Knicks do the right thing and they pretty much prove me right.

Utah was in the 5 spot, what happen to your theory. Where was your theory when the Magic won in 1993, where was it when the Nets won it in 2000. Please. Don't give me this stuff about theories about where you finish to win lotteries. If the Knicks take a guy like Stoudamire, Kobe, or any other "horrible pick" with their 8th I would be happy.

you don't have to tell me twice...i was advocating the team to tank when they were out of the playoffs for the Lebron draft & got the "that's unethical" crap handed to me by certain posters...the Knicks constantly miss out on the best players, but hey, at least we're ethical...that's the important thing.

You guys kill me. Its about giving yourself a better chance at the top three picks I said nothing of if you are there you are guaranteed anything its just that you tend to have a chance to land in the top three if you have lottery balls in the 1-6 range. As for my therory look at how many teams from 7 on have won the lottery and how many have won that are in the 6 range.
