people finally decided to go back and look at recent history and saw how many foreign 7 footers picked in the lottery have been major busts like Skita, Redojevic, Araujo & Darko. While guys like Amare, Mcgrady, Artest & pierce flourish and become SUPERSTARS.

there's nothing wrong with taking a chance on a guy like Martynas later in the draft. Just not with your 1st pick in the lottery! unless he's a clear cut #1 pick like Yao was. When they're that good they go either 1st or 2nd.

there's plenty of foreign centers picked later in the draft that have contributed to their teams but not carry their team the way an Amare or Mcgrady can.
