Nope at #30 get a 7 foot project. One will be available and if he is decent, it would be a huge upgrade, and all he has to be is decent.

like Lampe? Dont get me wrong... I was excited about him, but I would rather have a guy that could be the next Gilbert Arenas or even Trevor Ariza then the next Lampe.

Exactly. Fish is right on with this one. How many late first round, second round 7 footers have panned out in this league? It's more likely than an undrafted big man who has the desire and work ethic rather will pan out rather than grab a 7 footer late in the draft.

On the other hand look at all the late draft picks who have panned out as guards -- Josh Howard, Redd, Spree, Dickau, Tinsley, the list goes on for quite a while...

I would go small with all our late first round picks and second rounders -- guys like Nate Robinson, Hodge, Daniel Ewing -- I think all are going to make big contributions in this league.

Even the way we are constructed now, if we came out of this draft with Felton, Nate Robinson, and Hodge I would be thrilled. We would be very unbalanced but we're not good enough right now to worry about team needs. We have to take the guys who will make the most impact down the road. Those three guys would give us some tenacity and defense in the backcourt and make Marbury expendable in a trade or move him over to the two.

I think Hodge will work his way into the starting lineup for a contending team his rookie year. He can play 3 positions and reminds me of the contributions Marquis Daniels gave Dallas last year and the same that Josh Howard is giving them this year -- Does all the little things that don't show up in the boxscore but help win games.

yep I agree. I've been saying the same thing all season long expect the part where we would have 5 PGs on the roster and no SGs or C's

Crawford and Hodge are more of two guards anyway who can play the point and Marbury could shift over to the 2 as well. As for center, unless we get the #1 pick, we are not solving this problem over night. Add a big shotblocker via the MLE like Stro Swift or Hunter and lets build this thing gradually. Lets not pass up great players because we are set in a certain position. What if Miami passed on D Wade because they already had Eddie Jones and Caron Butler?

My draft list goes like this
1. Bogut
2. Marvin
3. Deron Williams
4. Green
5. Felton
6. Chris Paul

This draft is a guard heavy class so instead of trying to work around that and still grab a big guy, lets use it to our advantage and build a very dynamic backcourt that actually can incorporate some defense.

I think Mccants will be a surprise in the league....Carolina produces some NBA studs...its the Dukies you gotta watch out for...

The draft is always hard to decide on - all I know is Nene shouldnt have been traded, and I dont think many if any impact players were chosen after Sweets. The team needs a big, but there are always huge ??? surrounding bigs in the draft. I wouldnt pick a project at 8 - I would take an impact player - but if its a PG or a SF I would pass. Hopefully there will be a quality big for us but I am not getting my hopes up.
