i saw this kid play in a game last year...he was dunking over everybody...you think he'll be anything like Steve Francis?

No, but i do think he will be an impact type bench player who can change pace on both offense and defense. Look at what he did at Wash. He's a mini Dwayne Wade. Thats a good comparison.

I hear ya but I gotta think it depends on what we do at 8. If we don't go big at 8 and someone like Frye or Blatche is available at 30 I'm not sure how we can pass twice on bigs in the first round. Our team is small!

Personally at the moment I want Bynum at 8 and McCants, Hodge or Warrick at 30, but I could be persuaded on Nate if we go big at 8.

there's no way Warrick or Frye slip to 30. I'd love to grab Hodge or Nate Rob at 30, though. Maybe Blatche, but I doubt he slips either.

as long as he's not just another Robert Pack/Harold Minor, i'd take a shot at him w/a late 1st rounder if he's still available.

I love Robert Pack, and I think he's a decent comparison to Nate. I think the big issue with Pack was never staying healthy.

what is nate, well i would first start off by saying nate is a winner with tremendous character. although he is smallish in height, probably 5-9 in sneaks, he has most of the attributes you look for in an NBA player. He is thickly muscled, yet explosive and quick. He was a leader on a team in college that went 32-3 and was a number 1 seed. Every year, he worked on his game and got better. His FG and FT % are very very good. While he is small, he is an EXCELLENT full court defender and strong--bench presses 440 pounds at a bodyweight of 190, which happens to be in the Ben Wallace range. he adapted to PG this year and did a great job, averaging only 2 TOs per 30+ minutes. he can rebound the ball very, very well for his size and push, he would be the fastest player in the nBA when he gets there and can finish with superman like jumping ability on the break.
his defeciencies are when he can get trapped by bigger players with long arms in a halfcourt zone, he wouldnt be as effective, but you dont see this type of D in the nBA, he will routinely be the smaller guy oin the D which will allow his defender to see over and shoot over him, although he is very good at using his strength to keep you from going where you want. he has a nice stroke and it is only getting better, almost a .40 % 3 pt shooter. he just a real unique player, a tough winner, who i think will be an impact type bench player.

nice scouting report; you couldn't really ask for a lot more than that at #30.

so is nate a 10 min/game player or will he be an earl boykins type 25 to, some nights, 35 min player?

i'm not sure we can settle it with marbury/nate/jamal rotation b/c of height issues so if we go after a real SG, then nate is regulated to 5-10 min duty.

that's hard to answer, right? who predicted the 5'5" boykins woulid would become an "earl boykins type?"

like BRIGGS said, i'd take him at 30 if we get a big at 8. unless there's someone there you can't pass up. blache/frye/akindale.

Nate ain't falling to 30 after the Chicago camp. He's going to have media hype and I think he's going top 25 or better.

i'd like to agree w/that, but i think the "height" thing will bring him down a bit. jameer nelson was supposed to be lottery, but went like 23rd or something. naismith player of the year/almost undefeated season/ect...

He sounds like a good player, but I think there will be a big and it would make the most sense to draft a big, or a bigger player at #30. One of the 7 footers will still be available, mybe Frye, Akindale, Blatche, somebody, and I would not be ok with us not taking them. We are straight at the PG position, it would be a wasted pick imo, Steph is playing no less than 35 minutes a night, drafting a player in the first round to play behind a guy for 10 minutes is insane. Get us some big bodies, if we can get enough of them, somebody has to be good.

If Nate Robinson was 6' he would be a lottery pick.

All the reports are true. He is a freak of nature. He really can get up there and he dunks it like Baron Davis and Steve Francis. He is a decent playmaker, defender, and shooter too.

It's crazy....even after all this he might not get drafted in the first round. Dude is 5'9". Someone might see some Earl Boykins in him and take a chance. I don't think it will be Isiah.

true story. he actually started out as the starting cornerback for the wash huskies football team his freshmen year, he was a top 50 ranked football player coming into school. he ran a 4.37 40 yard dash and trains with the football team during the offseason. for an athlete of that caliber to bench press 440 pounds doesnt surpise me. he's very physically explosive and still indimidating at 5-9 which is why he is such a good full court defender. That what I mean by him being a pace setter--he can literally pick up 94 feet on the D, work the guard hard and push their clock, and on the other end he can push up the court as fast as anyone. if you add up all the + on this guy, including leadership, toughness, skills, athletiscm, he adds up high.
