Would you have preferred to trade Kurt or Nazy for Malik and draft picks? There were rumors that Isiah didn't want to deal Kurt in that trade, even though the Spurs wanted him. I'd have to say that even though I support the Nazy trade, I would have strongly preferred trading Kurt for Malik and the picks.

Dude comeon.....Nazr has a much better upside than Kurt...He is younger and most of all 2" taller. Kurt has a better jumper and that is about it....Nazr will at least block a couple of shots and he operates inside....Kurt doesn't....

I would have traded Kurt - but just for age reasons.

I agree. I wish we had done the Kurt trade instead if that was even something San Antonio was interested in this year. I don't know if San Antonio would have given up 2 picks, though. It might have just been Malik and Phoenix's pick (#30) for Kurt.

You really think Malik is better than Kurt? Or that the difference between Malik and Kurt is small enough that pick #30 makes up for it? I don't think Malik is better than Kurt. As to the second question, I'm not sure whether pick #30 would be enough. I'd rather get a higher pick for Kurt.

Just Kurt out of town will satisfy me......any draft pick in the first round can turn out to be much better than Kurt....I know one thing, the minute the Knicks trade Kurt we will automatically become a defensive team...It doesn't matter who we have at the frontcourt, as long as it is not Kurt, as long as that man can provide size and shot blocking ability, we will be a much better team...

Dider, why do you hate KT so much? And don't say something silly like "No team will ever win a championship with him on the team" or "He's overrated"

I hate Kurt as a Knicks because nothing that he provides help our team. Nazr and Sweetney's production were far more effective....JYD was more effective than Kurt...I sure wish that he was played a little more than what he has gotten this year...Kurt would look good playing next to a beast like Germaine O' Neal or KG

Kurt gave us 11 pts and 10 boards just about ever night.

He hustled and played hard.

He's not flashy and not ever going to be on an ESPN highlight unless its with LeBron or Kobe dunking over him.

But that said, he's numbers were solid and without him, things would have been worse.

Sweet couldn't average 40 minutes without a rule change allowing 12 fouls per game.

Back to the original point, KT might have been worth more than Rose & two picks, but with the Mo T trade, Nazr would have been better just from a youth, height and contract stand point to keep.

Great point, trade kurt and we are a defensive team, last time i checked marbury, crawford, thomas, sweetney were all terrible defenders so how do we become a defensive team

He is cash out to 18 feet and he is an excellent defensive rebounder. Good post defense. No presence in the lane.

Nazr is an excellent all-around rebounder and good for put backs, 2nd chances and gets to the line where he is decent. Average to bad post defense. Minor presence in the lane.

Kurt is the all- around better player hands down.
Nazr was the better fit for our team, imo. Kurt for Rose and 2 #30 picks isn't enough. If we could get that for Nazzy we should have gotten more for Kurt. If not I would have traded Nazzy. We will get something decent for Kurt, there are teams who want and can use him. Houston, Dallas, and Miami are 3 teams that come to mind.

I'd like the Kurt for the 2 late picks more because then we'd still have Nazy's expiring contract as a trade asset this offseason. Or if we kept Nazy, we'd have a center to go along with 4 PFs, rather than 5 PFs and no center.

FYI, the Spurs wanted KT last year. This year they wanted nothing to do with him. They wanted Nazy why because he is somewhat a legit center.

But I must say its about time most of you realized that KT needs to be moved in the worst way. Nostalgia aside its time for the Knicks to go in a new direction which means time to move on from old system coaches and players.

Once they traded Ewing my alltime favorite player, my idol, who I wanted to win a championship in NY so bad that was the end of me feeling Nostalgic every again about a player. I wanted Kurt gone 4yrs ago!

Just that KT scowl drives me mad! Like he is a tough guy when the truth is he never goes inside and hasn't blocked a shot in years. Let alone give a hard foul.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

KT was top ten in rebounding!

We most definatly need someone better than kurt. Malik ain't it, and those late picks aint gonna get you one better for a few years if you that lucky.

KUrt has been a rock, and without him it would have been even uglier.

WoW!!!! you guy's are ridiculous, KT is who he is, you expect to much out of him. You need to combine NAZY and KT skills in to one, then you will have one hell of a player. Niether one has any real post up game to begin with. Nazy is a solid finisher, kt is a solid jump shooter. Nazy does not protect the paint, plays sub par defense, and has the worst looking jump shot I ( worst then camby) ever seen, but playing with a true big man like TD, he will look like a much improve player.

The question should be who fits where better.

I don't lmow about his shot being worse than Camby's and both of them combined aren't as bad as Marion's shot. i don't care what his fg% is from 3 every time it goes in i think its a fluke.
