these master plan nonsense things are just that - nonsense - you've got to have a general idea and go from there. how often in the NBA do you think you can sign / draft trade for the players you want in your master plan?
everyone's master plan is the same, trust me. here's the general NBA GM's master plan:

Dominating Shaq-like Center - on offense and defense

PF - Athletic, Scorer, 6-11, good passing skills, Good help defender, range out to 3 if necessary

SF - Lock down defender - can drill the 3 and can post up. Athletic.

SG - Deadeye shooter with great defense. Can slash to the basket and create own shot, can pass the ball and grab 3 rebounds a game

PG - Pass first, but can score. Fast. Tall (6'3"+). Good defense. Can split double teams, quick first step. Good leadership skills.

Bench - some vets, tough guy/enforcer, young talent, straight 3 point marksman, solid backups at each position

Assets: stockpiled draft picks, cap space - big metro area/ warm weather

yeah, well, I'm trying to think of any NBA team that has close to what you suggested, and I can't think of anything. What you are describing is an all-star squad basically, which has close to no chance of happening ever. The team that most matches your descriptions is detroit, except ben wallace is not shaq like on offense, etc.....

Miami comes closest...

Indiana was there before Artest got nailed.

Spurs...

Suns...

Detroit...

Bulls/Mavs/Seattle maybe, except for the center spots.

miami doesn't fit your perfect lineup.
haslem is not 6'11'', he's 6'8''. He can't pass and his range spans out to a midrange jumper and that's it. For your SG and PG descriptions, if you put wade at SG then damon jones misses a lot of the PG requirements - not tall, not quick, no first step to speak of...
the problem is the center for most teams...
pacers + spurs, if you count oneal/duncan as the Center, then the PF is not manned very well. It is simply very difficult to get 2 good big men + 2 good guards on the same team

The last US olympic team basically had all of that except the "dead eye" shooter at SG. Prior Dream Teams had all the things he's listing. That's the only example I could think of. You can win a championship without *all* of the qualities case is listing obviously.

The Charlotte hornets with Mourning and grand mamma and the Golden state warriors with webber and mullen and hardaway fit that blueprint as well. Also the orlando magic of shaq and penny and nick anderson.

Neither won a ring.

I can't think of any team that won a ring that fit that.

Maybe the Houston Rockets of Barkley and drexler and hakeem? They won I think.

I think your PF is a little exagerrated...I'm thinking more a rebounding defensive machine like Rodman or ben wallace. Nothing fancy if you have a SG dominant center and scoring PG.

I think it's more like the suns but the small lineup of the team.

Look at hte knicks.

Marbury - blueprint point guard and thensome
Houston - Blueprint SG, not great defense, but who cares
TT - 6'10", can post up, run the floor and hit the outside jumper
Kurt Thomas - Double double defensive minded PF with range
Center - ?? Nazr, not really shot blocking, but did block shots.

Bench - Crawford and Reezy and sweets, JYD and Penny

Fugazy plays to his potential and Houston simply plays we are 90% the blueprint

We fill the Center position and replace Houston, we are the blueprint.

Provided everyone plays and plays to their POTENTIAL!!
all kool aid all the time.

playing to potential - totally - that's the thing. with all the knick injuries and games where players showed no heart... it was sad. the knicks looked great the few games Houston played in this year. The highlight of the season was the game against Orlando - we destroyed them and the team looked amazing.

You have Lebron miscast, he is not the deadeye shooter or great defender. Deadeye shooter with great defense maybe Rip Hamilton.

Oh, my bad, my bad:

C-Shaq
PF- Garnett
SF- Marion
SG- Michael Jordon
PG- John Stockton

Any team less than this is a collection of losers.
