We have a chance at drafting a 7'1 290 AND the kid IS ONLY 17. This kid is still growing and at that young age, he will not be disciplined enough to manage his work ethic and nutrition....given the way Sweet has balooned up under the supervision of whomever our strength conditioning coach, I don't know if he really is a qualified professional to guide a big dude like Bynum.

Ariza and Crawff are still very skinny; Sweet, JB, and even Mo T are overweight. Can someone please tell me who the strength personnel is and his credential??? Because he is doing a lousy job. TT used to be a very agile young player, but a full season under this guy's supervision, TT looked like he lost his agility. Marb used to be able to dunk the ball, but now, he probably can't even touch the rim; Houston used to be able to shoot and play at least 70 games, but now he can't even play more than 20 games....Something is really wrong with whomever is responsible to strengthening/conditioning/and dieting for our ball club....He needs to be fired and we need to bring a really qualified person to manage this vital area of our ball club. A well conditioned team goes very far in the playoffs, look at Detroit...

Our boys are not well conditioned and it shows in our 4th quarter results...How many game we have lost in the 4th?????? Exactly..... Tell me that I am wrong.....

No wonder...

Look here, tell me that I am wrong. I have compared the Knicks coaching's staff to the Heats, no where on our list, I see a strength and conditioning trainer. But, when you look at the Heat's, which we all know how much Pat Riley value conditioning, you can clearly find the name of the particular individual that handles that duty. Isiah has made many changes in N.Y, but this needs to be the biggest change as far as I am concerned. When you have young players in a city like N.Y., especially young millionaires, you have to cover all the bases. We have a code of conduct, a code of dressing, where is the code of strength and conditioning??????

Brittenham and Saunders. The same slackers that trained Starks, Mason, Oakley, Ewing and co.

Remember how the Knicks would beat you EVERY 4th qtr because they always seemed to have more in the tank? Was the the coaches or the players will to work hard. Hmmm....

all of the well conditioned teams in the NBA have a strenth and conditioning coach....Here is the dude responsible for keeping Denver well conditioned...

Steve Hess
College - Ithaca '91

Keeping the Nuggets in top physical shape is the job of Steve Hess, the team’s strength and conditioning coach. He oversees the team’s weight training, conditioning, stretching and nutritional programs. Hess designed and arranged the Nuggets’ sparkling new weightroom in the Pepsi Center. He also designed functional pieces unique to the Denver Nuggets.
In his eighth season with the Nuggets, Hess creates and administers individual workout programs for each player throughout the entire year. He spends the majority of the off-season working with the Nuggets players as well as other professional athletes, overseeing every aspect of their workout programs. He pushes them to reach their peak physical condition.

Knicks needs to get with the program. If looking at Sweetney, JB, Mo, Ariza, and Crawfford is not a good enough reason to have a strength and conditioning position specially created for our team, Isiah is not worthy of the GM position. I don't even think that he would cost the team much to do so....$80.000 a year could save the organization a whole lot of money...look at how much we are paying Houston to warm up a sit and look pretty....

dido...have you ever watched a Knicks game on MSG? They tell you each game who it is. Mike Saunders. He got promoted this offseason and they have not named another. He is considered on of the best in the business, and was here when Riley coached. Relax.

Dude! sometimes all it takes is a change of voice...trainers just like players do get complaisant. I am an ex-soldier, I have been is situation similar before. having soldiers or running a squad or platoon is similar to running a sport squad....Trust me, you will be surprised how easy it is to have an unfit group....a shake up is necessary in that department...fire who ever is there now and hire some fresh blood, because what we have is no longer potent..

exactly, he has been there for 27 years....he is no longer potent...replace him.. This doesn't sound well in my ears at all. you don't live in the same old house or drive the same old car or eat the same food, or wear the same old clothes....Change is good...That dude has been around for too damn long, he must one of the owner's boys

Mike Saunders
College - NYU '77

The longest-tenured trainer in franchise history, Mike Saunders marks his 27th campaign on the Knickerbockers bench in 2004-05...Joined Knicks on Jul. 24, 1978, succeeding the legendary Danny Whelan, who put in 11 seasons and tended to both Knicks championship teams.
One of NBA's senior and most-respected trainers...Currently second among NBA head trainers in continuous service to one club...Only Indiana's David Craig (starting in 1970-71) has had a longer head training tenure with his current club than Saunders...Just the fifth trainer in the franchise’s 59-year history, joining Jim Nevins, Don Friederichs, Bill Norris and Whelan, who passed away on Jan. 2, 2004.
In addition to duties as head athletic trainer, also co-ordinates the Knicks' demanding travel schedule and oversees the daily operation of the new MSG Training Center in Tarrytown and its state-of-the-art athletic training and physical therapy center.

Marriage????? Ask any married couple if the fire is the same as when they just got together. Look, we don't have to fire the dude, we just have to find him a different position....bring in fresh blood that will bring in fresh idea. just like when you first get married, you used to do the sex thing every night, but at some point, all of that have disappeared. However, you still can find other ways to enjoy eachother's company. Hey, I might have used the wrong analogy, but you all can understand what I am trying to say. Fresh blood is a good thing. create a position and name is exactly what it should be named (Strength and conditioning trainer) and hold whomever in that position accountable to the fitness of our boys. There is no reason why Sweetney a young cat should be overweight or better yet, there is no reason why Ariza or Crawfford to be as frail as they are.....

"And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful
Wife
And you may ask yourself-well...how did I get here?

And you may ask yourself
What is that beautiful house?
And you may ask yourself
Where does that highway go?
And you may ask yourself
Am I right? ...am I wrong?
And you may tell yourself
My god!...what have I done?"

Im speechless!

First of all, these guys are seven figure professionals. Its pathetic they would need some new blood to motivatethem to be inshape.

We are not talking bout a drill sargent, we talkin about guys whom are supposted ot be at the top of their profession.

If they are "tired of listening to the same trainer" and thats the reason they are "tired" then they are the most pathetic group of spoiled rotten paid athletes and Isiah should be fired the spot for bringing in such a soft group of overpaid mental midgets!

Now motivation to have sex with my wife may wain over the years, but im not being paid to service my women. Its not my job, its not my profession. IM not a gigilo! But pay me enough money, Ill do every women in the neighborhood and make them smile all day! Ill be the pied piper dropping loads door to door!

Its going to cost more than 80,000 for a full time personal trainer especially the type of trainer we are looking for. Your looking at min of 150,000 which is a small price to pay....

It should be plain and simple in the contract if you are not in top physical condition you are fined until your reach it

I recall when Thorn exiled Childs for being out of shape. can't just sign a contract and show up fat!

I really don't think Sweets is all that out of shape. He's gotta run rim to rim, and bang underneath. His failure to stay on the floor is foul trouble, or coaches minutes.

Gazy on the other had runs wing to wing, and the force field of fear keeps him from the paint.

Part of getting into foul trouble is not having the lateral movement to beat his man to a spot on the floor....

Also having the lift in your legs is crucial and losing 15-20 pounds would really make a significant impact to his game.
