why just include all the draft picks? Why do you want to trade every asset we have for a guy thats one fart from being banned from ever playing in the league again?

I don't like it. I love Artest as a player, but he's too much of a risk to trade two up and coming players. As a team we need to get younger. Sweetney and Ariza and whoever we get with the 8th pick are the future of this team.

i don't like Artest for this team at all. he's a good pick up on a team that would go over the top if he produced but wouldn't capsize if he immolated. THe Knicks will be totally dependent on him and will sink if he goes down.

KT & a late 1st rounder for Artest...nothing more...yes, Artest is worth more, but the risk is way too high to give up the lottery pick or Ariza for.

Goot point, indy wants value they can't get, and he is a time bomb.

Him and Stephan Jackson on the same team, Very volitile! Not that could ever imagine the brawl, but I am long on record for having players that are strong mentally.

Paul Pierce has long been on my mentally soft list, with Artest, Jackson. these guys are in the mold of Starks and Mase. You can only go so far with these types of guys.

Good coaching can overcome much if the players can buy into them.

Marbury is very strong but needs to be a soldier, not a general. By this time in his career Isiah demostrated great leadership qualities.

It is important that Gazy and Anfernee be exiled. KT needs to go unless Marbs can respect him. Marbs lack of respect of authority is very destructive to the team. OUr meltdown coincided with the rumors of him yelling back at assistant coaches and proclamation of his greatness. It divides fragile teams, and that what were were at that time.

yeah, I say lets give them Crawford Ariza Sweetney picks 30 SA 06 and future number 1 in 08 + 3mm in cash, oh yeah lets also take back scott pollard and add in Tim Thomas

then we can take back Brian grant and Lamar odom and give them the lottery pick, the pick 19 we buy from the grizzlies, 10% of Knicks ownership, free lifetime cable for Lamar odom!

then Ron pulls a mike tyson blowout in day 18 and lamar is caught smoking blunts in grand central with the whinos!

but dont worry folks, we still have KT!

Artest is a psycho, but he is worth the risk. Marbury and Artest would give us a 20/8 PG to lead the offense and a 20 point scoring/defensive player of the year candidate at SG/SF to lead the defense. No matter what package Isiah puts together for Artest there would still be enough assets left to get a third guy to help Stephon and Ron. I'd like it to be Odom, but as long as it's a young all-star level guy it doesn't really matter. If Kurt (although he is getting old) or Crawford aren't moved they could be that third guy, or the lotto pick could be the third guy. Obviously I'd like to get Artest for as little as possible, but if the cost is high, pay it. I doubt the Pacers would ask for so much that Isiah says no. They couldn't even trade Artest for Stojakovic last summer and that was BEFORE Ron jumped into the crowd kicking buttocks. His trade value is even worse now. As long as they don't ask for Marbury something could be worked out. And that Bird hates Isiah stuff is overrated crap. Bird isn't stupid. If NYK makes best offer Ron is a Knick. And let's say Bird bumps his head and doesn't want to take a NYK offer that's the best, Walsh would fire his @$$. Isiah's a legend in Indiana and he was canned, Bird does something stupid like that he gets the axe too. BTW - In NY Post article awhile back Walsh was saying good things about Crawford, Ariza, and for some reason Tim. So a deal can definitely be made. We'll see.

KT must go unless Marbury can respect him? Are you ****ing kidding me? Why does anyone need Marburys respect he has been selfish, not played defense, complained and whinned most places hes gone, never won anything, and constantly misses big free throws, and doesn't make the play when it counts.....

He has a little work to do

i don't personally think that's the reason he should go, he just does'nt fit the team. as for steph bitchin' i have'nt heard any while he's been w/the knicks. we all grow up once we realize our mistakes, let's hope he has. only time he put his foot in his mouth was when he made that "best pg" comment, and we all know it would'nt have been his comment had he not repeated the question.
by the way, there's plenty of good, great, and even allstar players that have'nt "won anything".

artest belongs in ny....that's his crib! what other player would defend the msg hardwood better than ron. starbuy + artest = msg via bqe. you get an enforcer that will defend against the likes of vince carter. with artest in ny.....nets are gonna wish they never moved to brooklyn.

get artest before nets pull the trigger. brown can do nothing for us.

let the hawks or memphis cater to his mentality....ny is too much to handle

That's a lot to give up for Artest, but I wouldn't complain if we got Artest and (a) kept Marbury and (b) kept our lottery pick. I'd much rather do a deal where we kept Ariza and Crawford (or at least one of them--preferably Ariza) and instead gave up one of our expiring contracts in exchange for any combination of bad contracts they wanted to get rid of.
