I think the knicks should bite - what's another few mil?

"Grizzlies are looking to sell ($3M tops) their first round (No. 19) pick. Finding a buyer isn't as easy as it was a few years ago. "

http://www.nypost.com/sports/44217.htm

According to NBADraft.net

Hakim Warrick, Bynum, Petro, Monta Ellis, CJ Miles, Blatche, Akindale, and others should all be there.

WHAT?!?!?
Knicks HAVE to bite.

Blatche, Frye, Petro, Warrick, Akindale among others could all be there. This HAS to happen. Why do they even have the time to write about this, we should have had that pick already!! This may not be true but if it is, Zeke better be on the horn.

Hell yeah.....Isiah, please get on that. With that pick, we would have a lot more options, because trading Kurt for a viable guy prospect like Kwame would still be there...If we had that money to offer the Bulls for them to trade for Coochie Norris, we should easily have that money to stock pile on talents...

ARe you kidding me??? I just read that article, there is no mention of what you have suggested in there. Can you please copy and paste that portion of the article on the board?

$3mm is a hell of a lot of money for 25 NBA franchises. For us its not even 1/5 of what we are paying Shandon to play somewhere else.

I have no doubt that $3mm could get us an additional #1 in the 15-25 range. That pick then give us flexibility to move up, down, make a trade or take a guy that will stay overseas for a year or two. Drafting Splitter and having him play overseas for a year would be a good plan if he fell to the 20s. Remember, Chad Ford had Lampe going #5 to the Heat. You never know.

Would that $3M count against the cap? Does it have to come from the MLE?

nope.. thats the beaut of it. Its just considered a throw in in the trade. Doesnt hit the cap, luxury tax, MLE or otherwise. Its just good old green, no strings.

Seems too good to be true, so it probably isn't. The more I think about it, the less I want Kwame (disruptive/lazy***) Brown. What I'm seeing is the Bulls were happy to see JCraw go and next is Kwame. Those players did not work in their system because they are NOT COACHABLE...why should they work in a bigger spotlight?
No one can deny that the Bulls became much better without Crawford.....addition by subtraction....and with a solid draft. That should be our pattern for success (as some here have suggested). If we can, indeed, buy a pick in the 15-20 range, that would be awesome in Zeke's hands.
We will NEVER win with Marbury as our cameo guy.

AWESOME ARTICLE!! I pray Isiah buys that pick, $3 million is nothing to the Knicks. Too bad about Magloire. But it is easier to simply draft Taft and/or trade for/ MLE sign Kwame, so we can still get a big guy or two. And if we get Nate McMillan I will be a VERY happy NYK fan.

Well this just proves what a dumb ******* he is, considering a pick is available and you don't have to use a roster spot to get it, and not take on players to get a pick.....

Frankly not to worry he is getting this pick if the article is true, without a doubt you don't pass up the oppurtunity to get a young kid with talent especially three young kids.....

Anybody count how many roster spots we have open?

Is Jackie worth keeping?

That would essentially be 4 rookies, 1/3rd the active roster.

We can give them some money and our 30th?

Do we know there is any truth to this other than Pete?

Vecsey is more wrong in his "inside" scoop then he is right. Sorry I don't believe it.

No one is uncoachable in the NBA. They just have not found the right coach. Kwame wants to be the center of attention. Here, he'd have that by default. I'd say get Kwame for the MLE, low risk, high reward.

Kwame for the LLE. MLE would be to high for this dude.

The Memphis pick would be good. Zeke please buy now.

i would take this w.a huge grain of salt considering Vecsey's not even citing any credible sources here...but obviously if the rumor is true, then the Knicks HAVE to get in on this...it's a no brainer.

if pick 19 is for sale, we should be at their doorsteps with 3mm$--we paid how much for pick 30 and SA 06> two years of an extra malik rose at 14MM$

3mm to a team that is rebuilding with a 110mm $ payroll is a pittence. Start off by offering 1.5mm and pick 53:>)

Maybe 19+ 30=13 which equlas Granger and Bynum?

The Grizz have offered to sell their pick without having the chance to workout any underclassmen? I don't think so.
