Buckle your seat belts. As Mr. Bean said, "Brace yourselves." Here it is, the Knicks Future by Big Smooth, soon to be forwarded to Jim Dolan and Scott Layden. All trades have been checked @ realgm.com and work.

Trade 1 (draft day):
Knicks trade Marcus Camby to Cavs for Tyrone Hill and Cavs first rounder.

Draft Day 2002:
Knicks select Caron Butler and Amare Stoudemire.

Trade 2 (offseason): Knicks trade Latrell Sprewell to Grizzlies for Nick Anderson, Brevin Knight, and Grizzlies 1st rounder in 2003.

Draft Day 2003:
Knicks select LeBron James (they'll be bad enough with that squad) and PG T.J. Ford from Texas, best passer in the NCAAs.

Free Agency:
Contracts of Tyrone Hill and Nick Anderson expire in 2004. Brevin Knight, Mark Jackson, Travis Knight, and Charlie Ward would have expiring contracts in 2005. Add all that up, plus the contracts of LJ and Longley, Knicks would have smooth sailing from there on out, they'd just be utterly awful in 2002-2003 and 2003-2004, but there'd @ least be a bright future.

Lineup in 2004-2005 Season:
PG--T.J. Ford--Best passing point guard not in the NBA right now. Would be able to get the ball to the Knicks two GTG's (go-to-guys).
SG--LeBron James--The best pro prospect in ages. Magic like vision and Kobe like scoring ability says ESPN Insider.
SF--Caron Butler--Compared to Paul Pierce. Could avg. 20 points a year. He and James form a combo that would compare to a Kobe/Pierce 2-guard/small forward with a Jason Kidd @ point.
PF--Kurt Thomas--Would be the grizzled vet/Charles Oakley type to help mentor the young kids. Could avg. 12 pts. and 12 boards.
C--Amare Stoudemire--Wouldn't need to really develop offensively, could be a Kenyon Martin/Ben Wallace clone, playing above the rim, playing awesome defense due to his incredible athleticism.
BENCH
PG-Erick Barkley--signed in 2004 to backup Ford.
PF/C-Etan Thomas--signed in 2005 to backup the front court.
SG/SF-DeShawn Stevenson-signed in 2005 to be the scorer off the bench type.
SG/SF-Lavor Postell-See Stevenson
Coach-Mark Jackson

a) I don't think the cavs will want Camby, they've had their share of injury riddled players and I guess they'll be afraid to trade for Camby, maybe a 3 way trade though.

b) eventhough Ward has two years remaining there's a cheap team opt out for a 100k so you can consider Ward to be in the last year of his contract.

c) If the Knicks pick will be bad enough for the 1-3 pick the Knicks should seriously look at Kendrick Perkinson if Lebron James has been picked (aka we didn't get the first pick).

C--Amare Stoudemire? He is more suited to playing power forward.
