Too bad Herb will not be the coach after this season. :) I think it might be PJ or Larry Brown.

i'm surprised he'd say something like that when he's buddies w/Herb, the incumbent coach...but that would be awesome if we brought both those guys in...don't see it happening though...at least, the Phil part of it.

what Phil part? Ewing was saying he would work for Herb, the assumption being if Herb was hired he would have the right to hire his own staff. My guess is Aguire would stick, but possible as player development and not in any kind of coaching role

I really wouldn't mind keeping Herb. I like him as much as mo Cheeks. I don't really think there is a great option out there if Phil is going to Sacto or LAL.

Here's where I stand in order:
Phil
Nate
Flip
Herb
nobody else worth hiring

n/a Larry Brown and Rick Adleman

here's where i stand:

i don't care

unless there's a style of play implemented, and the talent to fit it, it doesn't matter who's manning the sidelines - and that direction comes from isiah.

Phil
Larry
Nate
Isiah
Flip
Lambeer
PJ
Herb

The roster/style of play is a coaches' doing as well. A coach could sit TT, start JYD, etc.
Look at LA without Rudy - they have a better roster than us and they still didn't make the playoffs. Then look at Seattle - after Ray, they essentially suck, but Nate has them playing like an actual NBA roster.

Phil is not coaching knicks, cuz when isiah was asked about if PJ was going to coach the knicks, he said absolutely not

ANd larry brown is not going to coach the pistons because he said that he was either stayin wit detroit or retiring
Marbury is finally home at MSG!

I was insinuating that Pat would work for marijuana, pot, cheech, Doobs, joints, maryJane, etc.

Like some dudes whom are homeless hold up signs " I'll work for food",

get it, get it???

Knicks and Phil Jackson talks heat-up
Team's willingness to include "weed" in contract revives Jackson's attention

Seeking to raise Phil Jackson's interest in their head-coaching vacancy, the Knicks have suggested a provision of "weed" be included in their contract talks, sources in the organization confirmed.

Jackson, whose attention had reportedly been waning, was immediately "compelled to revisit the situation," sources in both camps said.

"It's no secret that Phil's always had a wonderful relationship with dope," Del Harris, a friend and former assistant coach, said. "He was high all the time during the championship runs, and so was I."

In Jackson, the Knicks are courting a coach with unmatched cachet who would immediately solve the team's need for an ego-driven, arrogant, smugly confident personality. Jackson shamelessly spent a career exploiting the league's greatest superstars to build his gaudy resume, which is about as authentic as a mail-order doctorate. But it's the splashy Jackson the Knicks seem to want.

Isiah Thomas, the team's General Manager, did not duck a very predictable question: how would he handle the possibility, however remote, that, under Jackson, the team's fortunes might reverse and Jackson receive the credit?

"C'mon, guys. You know me," he said. "I'd fire him."

"Believe me, this is well thought-out... we consulted a bunch of people on this," Thomas added. "The big thing was, we asked [Jackson's people] what it would take to rekindle Phil's interest. They said, 'try weed.'"

Jackson, a world traveler and spiritual seeker, recently returned from the jungles of New Guinea, where he spent three months screwing pymies.

"I'm tapped out," he said. "I was doing 10-20 a day. They're a fascinating species."
