yadyada is garbage. dont believe the hype

other than JC and ariza[hey you spend enough money you will have a couple of younger guys on there somehow right?]

Mo Taylor Tim Thomas Malk Rose Vin Baker Jerome Williams resigning Kurt Thomas Penny Hardaway, heck even Marbury will be 29 next year and a 10 year vet
its a VETERAN team

you think they arent formulating a Layden like retread and a retread coach, who they think will win more games by installing discipline.

All of us are sckers. But I do hope 1 thing, if they do indeed retread with players or basically stick to the same shtty group, praying for a miracle like Seatle change--I hope they win 31 games again!

One year older, one year slower.

briggs got up on the wrong side of the bed today

UNTIL this team proves otherwise, it's the same old team with the same old bulls hit.

you're 100% right, don't think out of the box. every other team in the league threw in the towel and played the young'n's. but not us. stupid ownership, stupid management, stupid team.

maybe the 2005 NO THANKS CLUB should be the knicks...

I agree - knicks are hopeless for the 2005 - 2006 season.

I hope they are the worst team in the NBA and win the 2006 lotto to get Greg Oden - who might not even be coming out anymore... but this team is not getting ready to win or compete for a championship, so they must rebuild. Houston is done.

We should get Kwame.

that would be great but a team with the KT's and Maliks of the world is penciled in for a 30win season hence the 7th, 8th or 9th draft pick and no playoffs

I'd love to get Kwame. I personally think the kid is hungry for a chance of scenery and whoever is lucky enough to get him is going to get a young 7 foot player with a ton of athleticism and RAW skills. I can only envision what Zeke would be able to do for this kid mentally and Aguirre with his offensive game with what the kid already has which is a decent jumper and decent rebounding skills... but you can certainly see that the kid *could* be in for a huge season if he gets it all together and remember, he's only 21. GET HIM ZEKE.

he's 23 but there would still be hope that Aguirre would help him develop and he needs a change of scenary and for the Kwame bashers out there ask yourselves this would you be more excited with Kwame and the potential of him having a breakout year next year or would you rather have a frontline consisting of Kurt/Rose?

Point is, he's still extremely young and filled with tons of potential. Everyone in this league deserves a second chance. Ask the whole entire Detroit Pistons team.

The key to the off season is trading Marbury for a younger player or players. If they don't do that, Isiah is spinning the team's wheels, playing the front man for Dolan's folly.

I would take Kwame Brown in the starting lineup easily. I was reading a article by Chad Ford (I dont take what the guy says with a grain of salt for the most part) but he did bring up a good point about Kwame playing on a team that consisted of 3 of the biggest Gunners in the NBA in Arenas, Hughes, and Jamison. With those 3 games on the team there aren't that many touches to go around and who knows maybe Kwame got frustrated.

I can't say I've seen a WHOLE LOT of Kwame Brown on TV but when I have seen him I've seen flashes that he can certainly play in the NBA and that he just needs to apply himself and get another shot to show himself. Throw him out there in practice under the guidance of Aguirre and have Zeke get the kid straight mentally. I really don't think using the midlevel on this kid is that big of a gamble, no more then any other player that they can use it on,

Where did this thread come from? It had been quiet a while since we had one of these. We used to have them every day.
The four 1st rd picks should help make the team younger

we arent getting kwame brown. one of those young teams full with cap room will over something like 3 years 21mm with a 4th year team option which will trump the new mLE which will only be max length of 4 years as I have read. A team like the Hawks has 28mm in cap room alone. They could draft Bogut and use th 7mm on Kwame and if they wanted to could max out Larry Hughes AND sign a PG.
Teams like Chi-Phil[unless someone goes way up on Dalembart which could happen if Dampier got 50 for 5] are going to match offers for the RA BIGS. I think BIG Z goes to Seattle to take James's spot 4 years 32mm Swift will get 4 years 32mm+

guys that are left for us.
Jerome James-could be had by anyone with a 4 year mLE-someone will jump.
Steven Hunter-Pheo has to sign both johnson and amare next year, but they have guys coming off--like voshkul 2mm etc.. and they may opt to give Hunter a 4 year 20mm$, if not someone else likely will. hes a weird player, becasue he fits in well in the up tempo game, but hes only medicore in the halfcourt. its nice to be 7-1 and athletic-- because bottom line he is getting 5mm
7 Dale Davis-i dont see any club giving him 5mm per, but i can see a club giving him a 2-3 year 2.5mm$per as a big who can come off the bench

those are what I term BIGs--guys who play 5 or can play a big 4/5
then you have the next tier down, and it gets hairy
there are name players--i think rahim is NJ bound, you have your donyell marshalls Antonie walker[the last guy that i want] etc.. in positions that we have 9 guys playing already.

for guards that can be had
stoudemire, spree, payton, kittles[i would take kittles for a two year LLE:>) if hes not hurt] ty lue etc..

other bigs and G i would even name because they are RFA and we dont have any chance

Briggs, if the Knicks have Jamal, Trevor, Hodge, Warrick, Sweetney and Kwame Brown, does that qualify as a young nucleus?

Also, Marbury turned 28 in February. He'll be 29 in Feb 2006.

Even without Kwame (Briggs says we can't get him), that certainly should qualify as a solid young nucleus.

This year, we have a 30 win season and you declare Isiah a "disaster" (with no mention of it being okay if the draft is good) but if it happens again, next time you'll be fine with it?

It depends on how we win 30 games

if we trade our lotto pick and penny and get back some overpriced veteren-past-their-prime-one-time-former-all-stars and have a salary of $120mill next year, then failure.

But, if we keep our picks and play them and develop the likes of ariza, sweets and butler, then 30 wins is fine.
