He called out Dampier's punk a.ss and now he is playing like he should have been playing all along and giving Dallas a good shot at winning one in phoenix.

Damp has 12 and 6 on 6-7 shooting, with 2:00 left in the half. He is their 2nd leading scorer so far, and they are up 11 right now.

On another note if dampier didn't respond well it would have been called poor leadership.

Results oriented analysis sux. The ends always justify the means in sports, I think its kind of stupid.

Dirk is finally playing like a 7 footer and posting up, but he needs to develop his game in that area.

Suns are playing really well now and Dallas is only own 2 going in to the 4th thanx to the heroics of Michael Finley.

Nash's 10th assist was an incredible behind the shoulder left handed pass to the matrix. It was beautiful.

This is almost a must win for Dallas. If they win this they have the suns under PRESSURE!!

Dallas didnt play really well and they pulled this one off.

This has got to be discouraging for Phoenix.

Phoenix is better offensively, but Dallas is better defensively.

Finley was the difference for them down some tough stretches and Dirk hit a big shot in the closing minutes even though he was quiet most of the 4th.

I expected Jason Tery to play bigger, he played pretty poorly and had a big TO in the closing minutes

Dirk didn't even play well and they won.

I made the prediction that Dallas would beat the suns. One key for me would be the depth of dallas and Jason Terry, who was blowing by nash in the 4th quarter... The suns don't play D. That is not going to cut it with a team like the mavs, who can also score, but now you have dampier scoring down low and Dirk taking marion in the post, this changes the game, big time...

The suns are over rated - sure they are a good team, but they are all offense. Remind you of anyone? The Kings and the Mavs of the past 5 or so seasons and neither of them could get it done.

Dallas has a real shot of beating them, and even if they dont - they will beat them up enough that the Spurs will feast on them.

The Suns depth will be tested. Joe Johnson was playing some backup PG fdor them.

the Suns have gotten good matchups so far. I think they are lucky they avoided the Rockets. JVG teams play good transition D and James is a good defender at PG.

Running teams have always had problems with good half court defensive teams, especially in the playoffs. What running scoring team has won a title? The last was probably the Lakers, but they had some pretty good halfcourt players also, and some guys that played D as well.

I don't think it matters that much because Dampier deserved to have his ear chewed off after game 1 and Dirk showed that he is a leader by saying something. Regardless of the fact that Damp played well in game 2 , dirk still showed that he can be a vocal leader on a team that needs a real leader. Think of a guy like Allan Houston in his prime. He would never open his mouth. Dirk felt obligated to say something and that by itself sends the message to the rest of the team that they need a much stronger effort out there.

the suns aren't only a running team- they're good in their half court sets- its all movement without the ball.

Dirk is probably thinking we paid all this money to this stiff & basically gave up Nash for a center that is stiff.

I watched I guess the first half and Damps was scoring down low- had 12 pts early on and finished with 15?!?!?!?!

If Phoenix is playing Amare at C & Marion at the 4, you've got to post them all night long.

Yeah but JT has gotta do it throughout. They barely pulled off what should have been a smooth ride for them. Were it not for some heroic shots from FInley, they would have lost and JT's little outburst wouldn't have mattered.

Dirk was weak last night in the second half. But for 2 of their key players to play just alright and they still win, says alot. The Suns are in trouble.

Yeah and that fake flagrant foul. That was not a flagrant foul. I am tired of refs calling a flagrant every time someone falls hard.

When I was watching the replay of that foul I immediately thought back to the Knicks/Heat rivalry. I remember guys falling like all the time, imagine if they called a flagarant everytime that happened back then.. those games would have taken 5 hours a piece.
