Nazr wasn't kicked out of town. He was just the only one with some value but again if he is your starting center you are in trouble. Basically playing 4 on 5

NO, SA isn't in trouble, if he is the starting center on a great team thats fine. He was the starting center on a team whose next tallest player was 6-9 and couldn't jumper over a shoe.

He's great for them, get some rebounds, and put-backs. Thats all they need from him, we needed much more.

thats what I meant sorry. Thing is there are only 1 handfull of players who he and Kurt can get by playing next 2. Guys who dominant inside

Exactly, the reason they can get away with Nazr at Center is because they have Duncan playing right next to him.
How exactly does he get the last laugh? We all knew we were sending him to a team that could very likely win it all. We still got Malik (who's better at guarding centers than Nazr), and those 2 late first rounders. I think this is possibly the only move Isiah has made that EVERYONE agrees with.

He and Anderson get the last laugh because the Knicks are at home fishing, and both Anderson and Nazr are playing for winning teams....

I don't know but looking at Nazr last night, I was thinking we should have been able to get more for him than just two late first round picks and a tiny power forward with a bad contract.

Two late first round picks are very valuable....look at the spurs young european draft picks the last few years - ginobli, udich, parker. I think there can be plenty of value late in the first round considering how many young undeveloped players get drafted early on.

remember Isiah is drafting so there's a good chance he'll draft someone better than Nazr at 30 maybe even a Center. If he found Ariza at 43 I can only imagine how he'll do in this deep draft.

Can anyone tell me how many 4th quarter minutes Mazr got? I watched a little of it and didn't see him play at all in the 4th.

That I agree with. Don't get me wrong, I wanted Nazr out of town also, but I wanted him around more than Kurt. Why didn't Isiah offer Kurt instead????

because no one wants Kurt and his contract. He was overpaid buy at least $2-3mil and Nazr is taller

As usual when I watch Nazr I watch the oppoenent get into the lane for a layup with ease but boy Nazr works hard for those rebounds. Especially on all the point blank shots he misses and grabs his own rebound

You are right. I hope that God blesses the Knicks with good trade partner for Kurt Thomas. At this point, I just want him out of town.

I'm ok with the Nazr trade. I dont think it was a good trade, but it wasnt bad either. I like Malik and I hope Isiah's ability to draft good players stays true. What I dont like about it is it took away our only real chance of engineering any kind of sign and trade this offseason. Depending on who we were targeting a package of Nazr's expiring deal and possibly cash or a pick would have been an attractive option for a lot of teams. Maybe with Gasol's extension kicking in Memphis cant afford to resign Stromile, but getting back Nazr and say $3mm in cash is a decent plan B for Memphis. Maybe Nazr and pick 8 gets you a shot at Darko. Who knows.. but I do know those option are now gone. A 27 year old center with a $5.5mm expiring deal would have been a good piece, and I think taking back Rose's contract doesnt really justify the picks.

Anyway time will tell. Nazr is a good player but he's not what we needed, especially from that position. Hopefully we get a little lucky with that #30 pick this year as this is a pretty deep draft. It would be nice if a guy like Gomes or Blatche falls.

Rose does come with a great attitude and will to win. I do think he will play a good role for us. I was thrilled that game last year when he lost his cool and kicked the scorers table. Finally we have someone that is actually bothered by losing every night.

If Isiah can get KG in town, he will be named prince of N.Y.

This is a really good post, Nazr would have been valuable in a sign and trade. However, the draft is what determines how good this trade was. If Zeke can get us some gems with those picks, it will have been a good deal. if ge drafts losers, it wasn't.
