NY trades Mike Sweetney, Tim Thomas No. 8 pick- Receive Primoz Brezec and No. 3 Pick.

Charlotte would not jeopardize their cap space, because TT is expiring. They move Emeka to C and Sweets starts at PF.

We get a Center, and the flexibility to consider picking a PF, after we get rid of KT.

Rumour has it the Chris Paul might slip a little, and Charloote might believe they can get him at 8.

I guess it moves Emeka to C....

Emeka
Sweets
Wallace
??
Chris Paul

I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Yeah, YOU'LL do it in a heartbeat b/c you want that #1 pick, but Emeka is really a PF and has even said it himself. I think it's in that teams best interest to go after Bogut hard and fast.

Tey dont want bogut. Even their reserve forward (Ely) is better then anything we have. They need Paul or Green.

I just said what they can do. If they traded for what was origionally posted (Sweets for the 12)Emeka is only 6-9(6-10?). He reminds me of Ben Wallace with a scoring touch, IMO. Charlotte won't land Bogut, ATl has that first pick and the ONLY real piece they need is a center.I don't think there is a chance in hell ATL gives up the chance at the best center in the draft.

Julius Hodge cant shoot and he's a string bean. Where his value is, is if he can play back up PG[which he does have the abilities to do at 6-6]

Briggs what comparison would you draw Julius Hodge too, what player is the closest comparison to him?

As much as I would love that pick, but Charlotte as an expansion team needs picks as much as we do. We should try to trade our late first pick for a couple of second round picks because there will be a lot of available talents out there. That would give us more than 3 picks to play around with, and given Isiah track record, the more picks that he has is the meilleur...

NY trades Mike Sweetney, Tim Thomas No. 8 pick- Receive Primoz Brezec and No. 3 Pick.

That makes ZERO sense. Cha trades the better player in Primo for Sweetney and $13mm of crappy SF. On top of it they move down 5 spots where instead of a shot at sure fire franchise talent they join the crapshoot that makes up the late lottery. How about Ariza, pick 8, pick 30 and Spurs 06 #1 for the #3. Thats more realistic. Look at recent drafts.. your talking about a chance to draft guys like Wade and Carmelo vs. drafting guys like Wilcox, Sweetney and Jarvis Hays.

big difference.

Fish, i dont agree with you here. TT gives them a legit option outside of OK4. It firms up their SF position with Wallace playing a little SG as well. Emeka can do just as well at the C, just like Big Ben. And my main point, if they think they can get Paul at the 8, then they save some money there as well.

To be fair though, i like your idea about Trev, and i would take the 12 and include Ariza, much as i like his Airness.

That means were giving away TT, Sweets and Ariza for Brezec and the 12. Pick up Webster or Warrick there, and it makes sense.

How about Marbury and Trevor for the pick....take Marvin Williams and then get green at 8....and then either trade Kurt for Kwame or sign him for the mid level, draft Robinson late

Crawford/Robinson
Green/Houston
Williams/TT
Sweetney/JYD
Kwame/Anderson

Sincewe aren't doing anything logical we might as well save cap space, and get in young talent

Not BRIGGS, but IMO best case scenario comparison for Hodge is Marquis Daniels.

if were giving up marbury for the pick, we dont need to include Ariza.

Crawford
Green/Webster
Ariza/TT
Williams/Sweets
Kurt/Kwame/Z/Curry

Pick up Speedy Claxton, Earl Watson or preferably Flip Murray for part of the MLE. Add Chris Anderson. Sweets, Jackie, Mo T, Malik on the bench.

Trade Penny to Minn for Wally and their long-term cr*p, and were set.

Easy

BTW, if we trade Steph to Charlotte for their pick, and allow TT and Penny to expire, we will be under the cap in 2006.

Y'hear that New York!!! UNDER the cap.

That could be the first free agent signing opportunity since, well.... Allan Houston.
