Hell, why can't we get that lucky? I know that Dallas is a far better ball-club than the Knicks, but for Avery (a Rooky coach) to out-coach all of the old heads that he has faced, is to me a shocker. He is a hell of a motivator and most of all; he knows the game of basketball. The Knicks could use such good luck, but instead, we have been blessed with nothing but a bunch of know basketball but not known as motivators type of coaches. With the guys that we have around, Isiah has to find a way to hire a motivator to drive this train. I don't care who that coach will be; black or white, that man has to simply be able to motivate our boys to be all that they can be. From all of the names I am hearing as potential candidates, there are only a few that I would consider: Jackson, Lambier, Carlesimo, and perhaps Silas. After that, all of the other names are not the loud mouths that we need.

Isiah please find us a motivator......Lambier and Avery have both the same track records

I think the answer is in your 2nd sentence

even a motivator couldn't do much with the extremely flawed team we had this season

I can almost guaranty you that a good motivator could have at the least won the Knicks 8 to 10 more games this season....

Avery stepped into a nice situation. He has Dell Harris sitting at his side, and an established team already in place. Rooky. Yo adriane.

I started a thread about Bill Laimbeer a while ago. I think it's a shame he hasn't had any condideration. Bill Laimbeer has always said he would go to war for Isiah Thomas. Bill has done a great job coaching a WNBA team to a championship. He lost to the Liberty last year and had some real passionate things to say in regards to the Liberty.

I think Bill can handle the NBA. He is a no nonsense, speak from the heart type person.

Avery is cut from the same mold. He's a basketball junkie and he is very passionate about it.

I think Mo Cheeks, Carlisimo, Nate McMillian and anybody no named Phill Jackson is a joke. Herb should be given a shot before them.

If anybody wants a guy that will get inside a players head, teach defense and preach winning than it's Bill Laimbeer.

Only a few see it that way. Personally, I do believe that Lambier is a much better coach than Herb. What can Herb teach or tell these boys about championship??? nothing. How many rings does Lambier have? many. To get in these young kids' heads, you have to be able to show them your resume either as a player or coach. Bill has won at all levels that he has been......Isiah is really doing himself wrong by not offering Bill that job last season....They (Bill and Isiah) are from the same mold.
