Rack up another win!
Baltimore lost today as well, so we are now 3.5 behind the Orioles and 1.5 ahead of the BoSox.

Randy Johnson still worries me a little, but it was nice to win this game. What a game for Cano!!!!!!! And Sheffield's homer? Wow!!!!

Ugh, got our asses handed to us on a silver platter. Oh well, if we're going to go through these sort of moments, better to get them all out in one game. Tomorrow we win the series!

Downs:

-We lost the series against the Red Sox. We were outscored very ugly since the second game.

-We couldn't hit Wells after the first one. We let Wells have a retro night and that wasn't supposed to happen.

-Mussina was awful. Two run homer in the first. Back to back homers in the third and another run allowed. It was very, extremely dissapointing how two of the guys that should be the best ones in our rotation came up empty when it counted, against the rivals. Sure, they'll have more chances to redeem themselves, and its only the season, but this was supposed to be a big series for us to show we can win against winning teams too and we didn't prove it. Sure, beat the A's, Mariners etc., but remember to show up against the good teams too! Grr!!!

Ups:

-Was there any ups? Yes, the pitching from Wang in relief for Mussina. It was really a relief, as he kept the Yankees within striking distance and kind of slowed down the red hot Boston bats. I was very impressed by him! I love this kid!

-What else? Bernie had a very good defensive play, looking vintage Bernie. Too bad he couldn't catch the next ball hit by him.

-Anything else? No! Dissapointing effort Yanks, especially you too Pavano and Moose! Grrr!!!!!!

I can't stand this team anymore! They are such underachievers! Their play has been pathetic lately. Mediocre pitching, absolutely no offense! This hitters strike no fear to the opposing pitchers, and why should they fear, if they are sure ground-ball outs? This team has no heart. Im hating this!

6 straight wins, including a grandslam by Jeter!
Only 2 games down...Boston better be paying attention.

I hope this streak meand we are going to play more consistently in the future. We need to play like this more often because this is the real level this team can play. They need to keep performing like this.

Jet's Grand Salami was GREAT!

I'm glad to see that this thread ended just as the talk of a Yankee dynasty ended. These guys are washed up and pitiful for 225 million.
The RED SOX continue to pull away from the rest of the overmatched East.
And...wait until we get Curt Shilling back :<)
Nitey nite
GO RED SOX!
We will NEVER win with Marbury as our cameo guy.

Still plenty of games to go my friend. I'm glad you can rest easy though, it's not as though the Red Sox are known for choking atleast.

Huge win yesterday! How ugly would've it been to get swept by the Mets at home. Hey, it was Giambi with the winning 2 RBI hit! Great job by A-Rod also to get that doubleto make the comeback possible. Now we just need (how many times am I going to say this?) to get hot and have a big winning streak. The Red Sox? They are hot right now, but what about before the streak? They stunk as much as we did while the O's got it going. Now the O's look to be slowly fading away. Lets go, Yanks! You know it has always been a battle between you and the Red Sox in the end. Nows the time to get hot!

nice game by the Sawx tonight...Nixon & Bellhorn need to teach our guys how to play defense.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Meanwhile, we played a very good game yesterday, especially considering how offensively-challenged we have been this season in games where we have to come from behind. Nice win against the O's.

Wow, is Jason Giambi looking like a younger Giambi or what??

Nice comeback win, Yanks! Bernie was the man again, going 4-5 with a home-run and 5 RBIs. Tony Womack had an RBI! Well, with the win we stay slightly over .500. We need a winning streak fast...

Finally we win a game by scoring 3 runs or less! Thank rookie sensation Chein Ming Wang for his great pitching on a day he didn't have his best stuff. And another rookie played a big role, since it was Robinson Cano's double that made possible the only run of the game. Congrats to both Yankees rooks!

Nice comeback yesterday from the Yanks. With Sturtze starting because of an injury to Pavano, we needed all the runs we could get. We started strong, built a 6-0 lead only to lose it in the late innings (6-8). But this team is starting to remember how to comeback in games, especially late in the game. The final score was 13-8.

Oh, and congrats to Jason Giambi, who seems to be turning his career around just in time for us to turn our season around. He had 2 homers and has looked alike in at bats. Keep improving, Jason!
