Although Zeke was not named in this article, but from what I am reading, it sure sounds like Doc was referring to Isiah when he commented about the Indiana Pacers....

One might have been able to infer from Rivers comments after Game 5 that someone else could be coaching the Celts when the team becomes more experienced.

In explaining his team's problems playing well together after Tuesday's loss, he said, ``I don't know when Indiana put their team together, but I guarantee whoever that coach was is not there anymore probably and he was saying, `Guys, you've got to trust each other.' That's what happens.''

Celts director of basketball operations Danny Ainge figures Rivers is good for a longer haul.

``I think that Doc is a guy that can be with the same group for a long time because I feel that the young players today need a tough-minded coach,'' Ainge said. ``They need to practice. They need to watch film. I think that he's going to be better next year than this year.'' . . .

Tickets for tomorrow's Game 7 are on sale now on celtics.com or by calling 1-800-4-NBA-TIX. The seats will go on sale at the FleetCenter box office at 10 a.m.

what I meant is that Doc gave Isiah some props for preparing the Pacers to what they are today. Although he did a great job, he still got fired, because he wasn't who the current GM wanted as his coach....Basically, Doc is trying to tell the world that he will soon be fired, that is despite the fact that he is doing his utmost to take the Celtics to another level. because as a black man, he will not be given too many chances to enjoy the fruit of his labor....Black coaches always inherit bad situations, turn them around and get fired before getting a chance to truly enjoy what they have worked so hard for....I am not racist, but it is a reality.

Just the same way that Rick Carlisle got fired from Detroit, Brian Hill in Orlando, Scott Skiles in Phoenix, Mike Dunleavy in Portland, PJ Carleismo in Portland, Jim O'Brien in Boston, George Karl in Milwaukee, I mean the list can go on and on. Fact is you are fired no matter what in the NBA no matter what your race is. Win now or be fired.

I'd love for Doc to be the Knicks new head coach. I think Doc singlehandedly brought out the best in Ricky Davis. I don't think Danny has the confidence to bring back Walker if Doc wasn't around to deal with him. Plus I like his playbook. God damn everything just flows.

We need a coach who can put together a good playbook and manage players that need managing. On the offchance Danny doesn't appreciate Doc. Bring Doc and his whole coaching staff to NY. I'll buy 'em all a round of drinks and a dart board with Danny's pic on it.

the Celtics aren't good enough yet to withstand a Pacers team that plays as hard as humanly possible because they have a great coach in Carlisle. I would give Doc one more year if i was Boston. You can't possibly do better. Who are you going to being in Nate, Saunders, Carlismo? Its not worth it.

Then again it might be because Doc seems to wear out his welcome. I was just as shocked when he was fired by Orlando. He's a very good coach at many aspects but there must be something missing. I would love to here aan orlando or boston fan's take on doc...

I think if you hold Dido's message up to a mirror and read it upside down, it says:

"The devil loves you, Isiah loves you, Isiah wants you to eat more popcorn, Dolan wants your TIVO, and keep your mouth closed if younger more athletic man gonna posterize you"!

NO actually he was fird after the had a losing streak and he asked management to judge by 3 years of overachieving or 3 weeks of underachieving? He also said something to the effect of shut up. They fired him, it was really stupid imo.

I was bothered that Zeke never gave him a look, but Doc may not have wanted to coach in NY. But I was bothered that his name never came up. I think he's a really good coach. He had a team of T-Mac and Mike Miller in the playoffs.
