Id be more than willing to give up both picks for Gasol as long as they are not top 3.

I'd agree with that. I don't think Gasol is a superstar but he is a very good player and the odds are we won't get as good a player as him via draft. I think Marbury could really elevate his game by getting him a lot of good looks.

I was real high on gasol, but he looked soft vs the suns, the suns were able to get away with marion guarding him for stretches, I found that to be odd, I don't want to give up a lottery pick for him, maybe our #30 and a player but thats it..

gotta love how you guys always seem to think the Knicks have the assets to get other team's franchise players when we couldn't even manage a better trade than to get Malik Rose & Mo Taylor at the trading deadline.

he's not a franchise player, and the reason he looked soft is because he is. My best friend is a Griz fan and I see about 15-20 Griz games a year. Trust me on this one. he's a taller Jamison. He's good, dont get me wrong, but the guy he most reminds me of is KVH when he was first with the Nets.

I would rather have Marvin or Bogut over Gasol, and thats just going on what I have heard about those 2 guys here.

All of the guys rumored to be in the top 10 of the draft look always look great until they start playing in the NBA. Then most of the the guys picked at around #8 start to look more like Sweetney, Stro Swift, Nene, Drew Gooden etc. Those are nice players and I assume we would get a nice player at #8, but I'd take Pao instead. I don't think it was a mistake for the Wizards to trade their pick (#5 I think) for Jamison; I think it was a smart decision based on weighing the odds of getting a better player than him. I'd say the same applies (but even to a greater extent) if you're talking about trading pick #8 (even if this draft appears deeper) to Gasol.
Pao is due a huge pay rise that Memphis may not want to pay. They might trade him for pick #8, esp if we took back a bad contract.

On a side note I would definatly go for him if it doesnt cost me Ariza. Something like pick 8, and our #1 next year for TT (expiring) and Gasol. They can have Sweetney if its a must. Then you have a formula. 4 long athletic running player in Marb, Craw, Ariza and Gasol in the starting line up.

If Pau really is available then this is a crazy off season. Lebron, KG and now Pau. WTF is going on!?

I am very skeptical about giving up much for players that West doesn't want.

Agree Briggs. Pau is an excellent player but I dont think he will ever be able to win anything while being the best player on his team. Throw him out there with Marbury and I think the two can work together very well, it'd be interesting. Only bad thing I see about this is that if the Knicks inquired about getting Pau from Memphis I would think that Jerry West would surely insist on the trade also including Bonzi whom I want absolutely nothing to do with.

Bonzi is a FA. Memphis has an option on him for $8mm. Pretty sure they will be passing on that one.

Oh really? Ok thats good, that would ruin any potential Pau trade from my standpoint. Thanks for clearing that up fish

Do you know how many passes from J-Will Gasol messes up? I could see Marbury slapping Gasol in his mouth during every time out.

Gasol is a good player but he moves like a retard sometimes. He was getting 4 rebounds against Pheonix. One game I know for sure that Dantay Jones had more rebounds that Gasol.

Knowing Fratello he is gonna ask for Gasol to be moved for more dirty work player.

Talk about KG?.....Memphis has Gasol. That is the perfect fit right there. Memphis has enough talent on that team to dump 3 players on Minnesota to make it work.

I wouldn't mind seeing that. Aside from loving the Knicks....I love the game. The more good teams out there the better the league is.

if there is an upcoming fire sale in memphis i would also look into getting james posey. i would rather have him at SF than tim thomas. give them one of our PFs (kurt, malik, jerome, mo) and a late pick if they'd bite.

That 1st one was hilarious.
But seriously he's only 24 years old, and he's their franchise player and he isnt a franchise player. But he is good. He should have averaged 30 ppg aainst them he is 7 feet for crying out loud. He should have been posting guys up EVERY TIME HE TOUCHED THE ROCK. He is a little soft, but if you put him on a team where he plays the 3 and you also have a 7 foot center and a 6-10 PF, it makes things very different, he's like the good version of Tim Thomas.
