Yanks forgot that the core of the championship teams was developed in house.

The core for the recent playoff teams able to go deep (ie:profits) are thru free agents.

Baseball teams have minors, NBA has 3 IR spots. Knicks could never be as proactive as any MLB team!

The late 1990's teams might have been the flukes, not the many Starphucked yankee rosters.

Stienbrenner wants to win, but money is the big driver. Dolan too, he just is a bit dumber!

I like to think the Mets are the Knicks of baseball. Both are up there as the dumbest franchise in Sports. You know the was a time when the Knicks did things the right way. Until Dolan took over!

maybe in the past they were, but not any longer. yankees=knicks

but there is no difference in fixing something thats not working by trying something different.

The Yankee changes actually did really nothing. Cano and Bernie are the only offensive switches and they should be about equivalent. They moved around a bunch of players to different defensive positions but that is not really going to help their defense, which is still going to be the worst in the league.

The Yankees have one of the stupidest front offices in baseball. They really just don't know how to evaluate players properly. There ridiculously high payroll has allowed them to cover up their mistakes and still put out successful teams in the past but this year, it seems that their blunders have caught up to them.

I agree with all of that. The Yankees are basically the equivalent of what Scott Layden could pull off as a Knick GM if there were no salary cap (i.e., winning about 60% of regular season games over a four year period with no championships).
