we have very litle chance in the FA market with all of this cap space from so many teams.

My concentration would be on Darius Miles and Joel Pryzbila we need to get rid of junk. Since Randolph'scontract is insured, how about

Randolph, Miles, Pryzbila pick 35
for Tim Thomas JYD Sweetney and pick 30 53 SA 06 #1
pick 35 Nate Robinson PG Free agent pick up D'or Fischer C 6-11 255
that would put us at

C Pryzbila 7-1 260
PF Randolph 6-9 265
F Miles 6-9 215
G Crawford 6-5 190
SG Starbury 6-2 200
C Kurt Thomas 6-9 235
PF Taylor 6-8 255
SF Ariza 6-8 200
SG Webster 6-7 225
PG Robinson 5-9 185

F Malik Rose
F/C Butler 6-9 260
IR
Fischer
Penny
Houston

You think there's a chance Zach will make a good recovery from microfracture surgery? My expectation is that he has the same kind of decline we saw from Penny and Webber after the surgery and we have an untradeable role player for six years.

if the option is taking back zach and miles even if we get pryzbilla OR just use our picks and do nothing else, i vote for the latter.

let's face it already, this is going to take 3 more years AT LEAST to build something. let's not try to get on a pseudo fast track only to be back in the same position a couple of years from now.

he's 22 years old. Thats a different ball of wax. This was not a high flyer who relied on his athletiscm, rather his agility. I dont see why he cant be very healthy again. A guy Like Mcdyess who is 10 years older is playing great on his, after two procedures, one in which his knee cap exploded.

i would rather do it thru the draft ! I like what the bulls did. Yes they sucked for 3 or 4 yrs but look at them now ! With cap room
Isiah Thomas will lead us back to the playoffs in 2006 !!!

There is no way that I would trade for any teams injured players without including Houston in the deal.

Zach is too much of a question mark now. Maybe a similar trade mid-season when we know exactly how he plays on his knee, but other than that NO. And I like Zach's game and think he could really help us, but right now, thats a gamble that doesn't seem worth it to me.

We should work on Portland for Pryzbilla, SAR, and Miles in that order.

3 or 4 years? Those guys had 6 terrible seasons where they were at the bottom of the league.

I personally want nothing to do with Darius Miles. He's a extreme underachiever with a bad attitude. If Portland couldn't win with that front line why should the Knicks make it their own? I like the idea of getting Zach though, even though he has a bad attitutude I think he could use a change of scenery and a good buttwhopping from Isiah. Still not high on Pryzbilla, I know a bunch of you guys are but I'm still not sold at all, obviously if Isiah can swing a trade where he doesn't give up much, I wouldn't mind taking him on but I dont see it. Thats my 2 cents.

a) why give up on Sweetney. Even if we are looking to be fast and uptemp you still need at least one guy will to camp under the basket.
b) JYD isnt a problem and I would rather keep him around as he's part of a large group in Houston, Shandon and Mo Taylor that expire after 2 more years.

Yes, I agree we can deal with Portland, but I don't like the trades BRIGGS said and I don't consider them to be fair. Let's face it, they wont give up Joel. My trade would be Rose and Kurt Thomas for Theo Ratliff and their 2nd round pick. They don't want Ratliff and we must get rid of PF's.

not for nothing, but look at how better our defense is. We have a low post scorer in randolph, Darius working with Marbury and carwford should really take off, plus hes a solid two way guy. And look at our bench. our bench is fantastic. two quick athletic rookie guards to go with Ariza, KT and Taylor up top.

the trade makes us
bigger
longer
more skilled
and balances out a lot of things

one of the worst problems we have now is we are so imbalanced

drafting two guards getting a real C with a more reliable low post PF, putting KT back to bench player, get much younger, I think darius, despite whether he ripped his coach, is a guy ready to take off in this league

you have some risk with randolph, but he is fully insured, young and from what I read about his microfracture surgery, it was very small and has beocme a much more common exercise. A young player for example who had microfracture surgey is Chri Thomas, PG Notre Dame, and he visibly lost no athletsicm whatso ever. If we were talking about a 29-31 year old guy, then no, but I dont view this as anything other than what an ACL tear is--which requires much more significant rehab. Hes not a high flyer< i think he could be fine, perhaps better than ever

and getting Joel would be HUGE
