I can't believe that Jamal Sampson has yet to be picked up by teams with need for a big man. This dude is very athletic and young, maybe Isiah will revisit that option next season...offer him a small contract similar to what JB is under and give him a chance to earn it. Besides, aren't we missing size in the middle???

There are few names on that list that wouldn't be an upgrade.

ummm. this list is skewed. did anyone watch Ha Jin play against the Lakers in the last game of the season? he came in and was basically unstoppable in the paint with a really nice touch. I mentioned this two weeks ago how surprised I was to see what he was doing. I mean he is 7-3 300 and 19 years old and he put up 13 points 5 rebounds and was shooting over Chris Mihm with ease. Why would a guy who showed, EVEN in one game such ENORMOUS potential be ranked so poorly? I mean in one game, he showed more than 75% of the guys on this list!

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3863 hes behind bruno Sundov, who in 5 years did not have 1 game like Ha did in his FIRST game. Im a little surprised he is a free agent.

A few lol

outside of maybe 5 or 6 out of the 40 wouldn't be an upgrade. Thats how sad the Center position is. Thats why im baffled when someone says they wouldn't take Bogut #1

usually I don't pay any attention to what a bench warmer does the last game of the season but since he's a Center he would be worth taking a look at but didn't Sundov have just as big a game a couple of times too? I don't think it says much..

Is Tyson Chanlder a free agent this year?

What is going to happen to Jerome James - will he do better than MLE?

Guns, I've actually never heard anyone say they wouldn't draft Bogut with the #1.

interesting BRIGGS...how was his defense? can he guard anyone? he just looked so lumbering out there when i saw him play the 1 time...it's hard for me to imagine him being able to guard anyone other than someone like Dikembe Mutombo...i've heard he can shoot the ball, but my friends in korea even say they weren't all that impressed w/him last year...maybe he's progressed offensively since then & worked on his post game?
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

any human being who is 7-3 300, who at 19 years old, can come into the nBA and the first game he gets real playing time puts up 13 points 5 reb on 6/7 in 24 minutes is unreal. this wasnt against nBA scrubs, the Lakers were going with Chris Mihm Kobe etc.. hard all game. I thought ha reminded me a little of bynum, both got up and down the floor pretty good, not great, but once they get into position with the ball, they both have a soft touch or the length to just jam the ball. .

You can only judge a player in a 10 games 20 minutes per. Until then, I don't care. That is why I still believe that Sundov may be a good center. Until he proves that he can't be a good player in this league, I am not going to judge him.

Certainly sounds like he deserves a work-out. It's too bad Bruno didn't develop actually, he could have been something. Oh well...

Anybody know the status of Jamal McGlore (spelling?) - in terms of his health?

We don't need Magloire. As for Sundov development, again, how many minutes was he allowed to play? not many. I can't remember one game that he played for more than five minutes. that is not how you develop young players. Ariza got mad playing time, and he has developed nicely. The same should have been done for Bruno and JB.

thats why it is imperative that we trade old man Kurt and bring a coach in who has a clue

So basically, the only centers on this list who will be totally free and would make a difference for the Knicks are Zydrunas and Jerome James.

I'm curious about Bruno too. What's his history? I didn't even know where he came from. Was he at the Olympics, or summer league last year? I guess we'll see in summer league this year if he has any game.
From what I can tell JB is silky smooth, but only about 6' 9". I have no problem with 6 9" guys, but he'd have to be better than Mo, KT, JYD,etc to deserve minutes. At least Bruno brings something unique to the floor.

Hey, why not Magloire? Kid is (was?) nice.

Magloire is a taller Nazr with no athleticism.

and don't forget the most important thing, absolutely no shotblocking ability and he's not good enough to be our best frontcourt player on offense.

Weren't you penciling in Jackie Butler for the starting center spot?

That is right. I still do, just like I want Bruno to get a chance also. I have no clue what either of those two can provide. I know one thing, Kurt is not the answer. The time has come for us to experiment. Give each one of those two 10 games each at 20 minutes per to prove that they are not worthy of the position...
