he plays for a euro club owned by sabonis called Zalgiris

his best game of a limited 15 game schedule of which he played 12

was a 19 minute performance where he had 11 points 7 rebounds 6 block shots

overall he shot 58% from the field and avg 4.5 pts 3 reb 1.5 blocks in only 11 min

http://www.bbl.net/players/110

obviously he does not get enough shot attempts if he is going at near 60% pace from the field. also he is clearly the best shot blocker in this draft, evidenced by his domination in the 18.euro's where he avg 4 blocks in 29 minutes with 17 point 13 reb
here in the euro league 1.5 block in only 11 minutes
we keep hearing he stinks yadyada, but for some odd reason he has stayed in the top 3-7 on all mock drafts
i dont know if he is being talked down for various reasons, but from everything i read, he has excellent athletic ability great body control, long arms and sturdy frame that he needs to put weight on.
the chances to get a young 7-3 athletic post player are not very often and he could be a bust as sure as anyone else. but im not discounting this guy by a longshot because I know that ultimately the nBA is/was mostly dominated by big men.

The only problem I have with that Briggs is that he's playing against 18 year olds who are probably nowhere near the 7'3 height that he is, he's probably more then a foot taller then almost all of the players he played against! If that is indeed the case then I don't think we can call him the best shot-blocker in this draft.

No, not true. I checked the ages of the players on his team. He turned 19 on Dec 3 2004 and the next youngest guy is 4 1/2 years older than him. Most of the guy range from 27-33. Bottom line is this is a kid, but he has shown--even in one game 11 points 7 rebounds 6 blocks 19 min-- in a tough league, that he has some very serious potential.
Risk reward is in play here. We have to take into full consideration, again this is a kid of 19. Some guys are lucky and fill out at that age--some guys take 20-21-22 to fill out. He looks like he is 15 years old.

Hmmm, very intresting. I thought when you said in your previous post "by his domination in the 18.euros" that you meant he was playing in a basketball league that was designed for 18 year olds. Sorry, must have misread that, I still can't see taking him with our pick #8, it's just too much of a risk. I'd have no problem with taking him at #30 but chances are he won't be there.
