This dude still think that he is capable of playing the game of basketball, and frankly, he wouldn't be a bad pickup to teach Sweetney and the bigs that Isiah wishes to draft a thing or two about how to be mean. That part of the game is slowly slowly disappearing. Guys that can't even shoot the ball are more concerned about scoring than doing the little things that can help create or intimidate the opponent. Oakley for sure would have thought Nazr and Sweetney how to earn their respect in the paint. Too often this season I have seen players from other teams going to the middle and dunk on our big men. Kurt sold his soul to the devil by becoming a freaking jump shooter. If Herb is retained, which I hope not, I would love to see Isiah reaching out to the old Knicks. I really want to see Ewing and Oak(tree) on our bench in some capacity. We had Bruno on the bench getting big pay while not even getting a chance to play, so having Oak (tree) warming up a spot on the bench, but mentoring Sweet and our future bigs will definitely not be a concern.

When you have potential bigs in JB and Sweetney on a roster, it is imperative to have good mentors around to guide them. Bring Oak (tree) and Ewing back to revive our tradition.

Long live the Knicks

i would have thought about that before, but i remembered how he was in washington. he used to bully and intimidate younger players like kwame brown and haywood along with his buddy jordan. he has no patience with younger players of today. he is definately old school who will knock sweetney or ariza around and may bring down their confidence even more. he is not a mentor.

I disagree, Kwame is a soft butter that will never be a studd. Sweetney and Ariza are both hard workers and most of all, they respect the game. Haywood is not soft by any means, he just had a bad second year, but Kwame??????

How much worst can we get with Oak (tree)? JB and Bruno were on the bench and never got any playing time, why not Oak tree instead of a never used Bruno??

NOw, you know that I am all for that. That is why it is important to bring Oak tree around to mentor those passive young bigs that we have around. Sweet is so passive, it makes no sense. If JB is like him, we might as well forget about it. We need a mean player in the middle...

I thought "Agwire" was the tough assistant coach? If we are all about giving every soft big man to "Agwire" and toughen him up, but at the same time we not happy with Sweets soft side (yuck!) then why we so high on "Agwire"?

And while Oak runs around saying how he all good to play, and help the young guys, nobody wants him? Just cuz you all good to get in a kids grill about being tough, does not mean is actually an effective coaching technique.

Young guys that are inexpensive and have upside should be kept on the team instead of old cheerleaders until we are at least 11 deep on the roster. We need the room to discover players. Isiah is right try new things like Jackie, and Sudov whom are not stiffs, but might grow.

I love Oak, but he sounds like a tool these days. He's too negative and sounds like a pimp talking to his hoes. He's going to get this guy, that, guy. I don't want to live in past knick history, I want to move forward. all this sht about coaching, yes of course its important, but we are a very mediocre teams in terms of NBA talent. We have pieces, but much bigger defeciencies. I read today about Dolan crying about officiating and some others crying about injuries. Go back and look at some of the line ups the Indiana Pacers had to use for long stretches and get back to me. One thing you will notice is that they did always have size up front. You need size and we havent had it. I dont count the Pheonix Suns because they have a dominanat low post player that trumps size, but they do still have Hunter and Voshkul. we dont

Disagree about Bogut being soft. He might not be a shotblocker but that doesnt mean he's soft. If you watched any of his games this year, you would know that the guy has a definate meanstreak in him. Look at some film and watch some of the picks the guy sets, its like watching Nocioni of the Bulls out there. Bogut in no way gets bullied around out there and doesnt crap from anyone.

Objective: Younger and more athletic. Bruisers are so 1990's! I hear you dude, but that was then, this is now! Guys don't play defense anymore. But they wear Tatoo's and have cool sweatbands on their heads! And curse their coaches out! Very in thing to do now!

Can't get a shoe if you full court press! Too tired.

Coaching is everytthing. Indy proved it, and most of all, the Suns....I don't care how good of players that you have around, but until you have a coach that can strategize, forget about it. That is why I want a coaching change for next season. I want a coach who knows what the hell that he is doing...One that will not only commit to Veterans, but one that will have a capable lineup night in and night out. Herb was too hype on Kurt Thomas and TT. play guys that can come in and produce. If one guy is not producing, sit his butt on the bench...

Bogut had 4-5blks every game I saw or looked at the boxscore. I think he's gonna be a very good shotblocker in the nba. He just needs to bulk up some more so he can defend nba bigs but that shouldn't be too hard since he has the body and work ethic to bulk up. He really worked on his game this year and most of the weaknesses he had freshman year were no longer weaknesses.

This question is specifically for Briggs, is there a big man out there that can bring fear in the front court???? I am talking about a college guy or Euro/African/Argentinian, etc. I saw this young man Nocionni in Chicago, that boy is no joke...
