blih me, it takes a good 10+ hours to get to Europe. 10+ there 10 + back and the need for sleep--just w tf did he do in europe for 36 hours or so? was talking to big phil that much more important than scouting and working out players? i dont know, but id bet a few farthings or ruppee's;.) that were not getting jackson, that we have the inflexible herby staying and were stuck in mediocre land for a lONg time. nothing goes right :>(

Correction, it takes 8 hours to get to Europe. Furthermore, Isiah had one goal, and that was to evaluate a few players that he has been looking at for a while. Petro and a couple of other bigs that he has been scouting on. He had a priority to at least show that he wanted to talk to Phil Jackson. That is a pure sign of respect, as far as I am concerned. Isiah knows what he is doing, give him a freaking brake.

i think if Isiah DIDN'T fly back to at least talk w/Phil you'd have fans coming out of the woodwork complaining that he's not making a strong enough push to get an elite level coach for this team...he can't win with some it seems.

I think that from the time Isiah leaves his home, door to door it might take ten hours. Private jet?
Maybe he was meeting with one player, one agent and wanted to show respect. Also get a idea of the kid, contract status, and perhaps a promise if taken at the 8th pick, will he come?
Run home to meet Phil? Shows respect, he got Phil in NYC, tells him he can have any money he wants, and the input on draft and trades.
And if he does not land Phil, at least he showed effort and can move on to plan "B", or "C", then "D".......

i think briggs hit it on the nose before - isiah went to europe on a quick booty call. he found some french broad that looks like she got buckwheat in a headlock that completely turned him out and now he's hooked.

Sounds like Phil is laying out what he wants, what he wants to see changed, and wants to know Isiahs plans for the team and how flexible is he. He had his boys (phils) with him.
Ok, I don't know a damm thing more than anyone, but this would be reasonable given Phils needs, and Knicks problems.
