i don't understand how the tiebreaker was alread determined? I think we still have a shot at 7

From what I understand there was a coinflip or some random procedure to determine who won the tiebreaker. We lost. Our chances of getting the top pick are roughly equivalent to Toronto however, as they have 36 ping pong balls and we have 35.

Yeah that's it... I don't get it.. why are we upset? The win cost us .8%... of getting the up there.

Losing the coin flip is pretty much irrelevant to our chances of moving up to the top 3. However, it hurts us if neither us nor Toronto moves up (which is overwhelmingly likely). In that case, Toronto picks 7th and we pick 8th, which could be the difference between getting a great player (like Green has the potential to be) or just a good one (like Sweetney).

why wouldn't they take Green at #7? he'd be a nice young talent to put next to Bosh for that 1-2 combo...especially w/Vince being gone, they'll need an exciting player to draw fans to the games...they're not going to take some unknown euro kid, i think you can bank on that.

I'd rather have Martell Webster at 8. Seriously, all this unbridled hatred is silly. With the guys that have declared that noone expected to declare (like May), and all these HS kids this is not the end of the world.

So we got the 8th pick because the team did what it was supposed to do (a la play to WIN) and was nudged by a totally random event (a frickin' COIN TOSS) to a draft spot 1 place lower than we could have gotten, It is all Zeke's fault for not telling Herb to tank and play the kids and it is Herb's fault for trying to keep his job....Why not just blame the players, they are the ones who actually played better than the other team in the final game. Geeze, if we lost this board would be going nuts about how we lost to a crappy team that we should have won against and would have been blaming Herb saying he can't coach and blaming Zeke for not putting together a team that can't beat another team. Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place....some of you guys are just plain impossible!

What about the picks from the Rose or Taylor trade? I thought it was this year.

That's #2 above - Phoenix's this year came as part of the Nazr trade, along with SA's next year.

I have a feeling every GM in the league is going to be calling Isiah, trying to unload their deadweight, malcontents, damaged goods etc..for that 8th pick. They know an easy mark when they see one.

Ill say one thing, draft day will be interesting to watch.I wonder how the crowd is going to treat Isiah?

That is hilarious because it is so on point.

Thanks Marv. For some reason I thought that we would be getting two this year from that trade.Part of me is really looking forward to draft night, the other part is dreading it.I really dont know what to expect from Isiah.Hope he can pull something off that will give this team and the fans a boost. We sure are due!
