I view this draft pick as part of the future, not necessarily a big part of next year

Obviously, if we get Bogut or Marvin Williams, either of them will be stepping into a starting role. Other than that, personally, I think it may be in our best interests to key on the 7 foot Italian player rather than Green. While Green would be great and if we get him, I will be very happy, the 7 foot PF with his skill level and body type makes a lot of sense for a club with no height.

We need some distribution of assets, namely pairing down the overload at PF. My hope is KT and either Malik or JYD goes and we can get needs in other areas.

RIP Crushalot😞

I think Zeke will be trying to win now. I'd like to build, but I'd also like to draft kids that can come in and play - like Chicago did, like Phoenix has done. I want a foundation of young kids who are athletic and play smart ball and good D.

This is why I wouldn't hate drafting Warrick, even at 7. I'd take Green or Taft over Warrick, but not too many others at 7.

I agree I have no problem waiting a year for guys like Green, taft, vazquez, splitter to develop. Patience can be very rewarding with one of these guys! They are very young but have huge upside. Much more rewarding than playing it safe.

I actually think Warrick will be better than these guys right away especially since he's more experienced, but I don't think he has the same upsideas these guys since he has too many holes in his game.

What about Webster at 7?

Bogut won't be a starter in his rookie year.

In case you didn't notice the USA, the almighty inventors and kings of basketball have embarassed themselves against these same foreign players by allowing them to win medals

I agree totally, we could still clean up our team in other ways as these guys develop. Good picks could be very big parts of our future success.

The Olympics ain't the league is what I'm saying dude. Bogut won't have the strength to finish in the paint, and he shoots 50% from the line, so what's going to happen when he starts getting fouled hard over and over? It ain't the Olympics, that's what.

Manu Ginobli won a gold medal at the Olympics, and he's got a better chance than the Knicks to win a NBA championship over the next five years.

Bogut is still too slow and too uncertain from the free throw line to crack the starting line-up as a rookie. Maybe by 2nd or 3rd year he'll make it.

Bogut will likely start wherever he goes considering the teams in the lottery.

Only place he might not start is in NO, they have magloire, outside of that there really arent centers elsewhere.

i dont understand how that will keep him out of the starting lineup..
