Think about: no one will be willing to give him a lot of money, he's loved in NYC, Zeke said he never would have traded him (and he's been able to overrule Dolan about "character issues"), Marbury loves him, we need a SG which will be hard to address in the draft outside of Green and Spree will have A LOT to prove.

Give him a 3 or 4 year deal, he's in excellent shape, would be a leader and would play his ass off for at least two years.

Two years at the mid-level is what I would give him, if we can't add a big, if we can, perhaps we could do a sign and trade, so minny gets something, he would be a good two still is effective

I agree with Marv 100%. Spree is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay on the top of Dolan's list, as in shyat list. He would have to be absolutely out of his mind to let Isiah go after Spree. Spree at THIS age is just not worth it and his skills and athleticism have dominished and faded to Bolivian (Credit to the Bip and Mike Tyson.)

Besides, TMS is right. The MLE is not enough to feed his kids. He still has himself, his wife and his pets to worry about. How silly is that?

How could yuou ever ever expect Dolan to sign this guy after he cursed him and his wife out right in there faces in front of the entire MSG and the television audience. Prompting Isiah to say somone should have knocked him right on his ass. Put yourself in Dolans's position for a second. No matter how much loathing we may have for the guy, it's inconceivable to me. Dolan can't get fired b/c he owns the team. However, if the Dolans end up having to sell Cablevision, which would be in years if they did, then James Dolan would have to consider selling the Knicks. It's very unlikely that Dolan sells the Knicks anytime soon. Isiah is more likely to announce his resignation, which IS NOT happening.

Dolan is appointed by the board. He can be fired by the board. He almost was earlier in the season. His father owns the team, he's the owner's son. He's been feuding with his father which is why his position is VERY tenuous. His pops isn't too thrilled with the West Side Stadium.

I'd rather get someone much younger with the MLE.

Right now, we should be more concerned about the future, not just the next 2-3 years. We have to watch how we use the MLE. No more Vin Bakers, Dikembes, or Sprewells. Bring in guys that can help us long term.

I think Steph is a similar player to KG in that he needs guys on the team he respects. He respects Spree, he respects Jalen Rose. There aren't too many in the league he does. Sheed. Toine. If we're building around Steph (and as long as Zeke is here, we are), we need to get Steph a guy like that who he respects.

that i will agree w/u on...but he had a superstar young player next to him in MIN & he chose to leave there in favor of being the man on another team...i think he also needs to feel like he's the man on any team he's on as well...maybe that's changed now that he's older, but he's never had to deal w/another player outshining him since he left MIN.

I wouldn't add Spree unless it was a one yr deal and we were a championship calibre team.

And you know I was one of his biggest supporters when he was here. But he basically wasted a chance to do something special with KG & the wolves this season because he didn't get the contract he wants even though the contract they offerd should have been more than enough. Thats not cool.
