and it sucks.

blazer owner is now saying that $54 mil payroll next year is still too high and wants to pare it down.

who else on this planet will take back zach's contract?

oh man...penny/sweets/#1 are gonna go for zach.

you know it.

the whole world already knows it.

Zack has 5 years left and he is coming off injury.

Sweetney vs. Zack....Zack got the minutes and ran with it. Sweets getting minutes and still hasn't earned the right to be the starter.

I'm hoping to God we avoid Randolph. If we have to pay all of those enormous contracts, why can't it be for a defender for once in our lives?!?!?!

hey man, i hear you...but how much longer can you stand of this crap? i mean at least the Nets offer their fans a watchable product of players who actually play w/some dignity & heart...i can't STAND watching other teams in the league crap all over our Knicks on a nightly basis...even the worst teams in the NBA like the Hawks, Hornets & Bobcats have beaten us this year...it's ridiculous.

Zach Randolph? you guys are crazy...how about we trade for Darius Miles too while we're at it...hey, arrange a sign & trade for Rafer Alston too...we can have an all-crybaby/bad attitude/knee problems/no defense team in no time...whoopee!

I wouldn't like this trade, but I will say I don't think Zach is THAT bad. He's a dominant BEAST in the paint. I think there's something in the water. Bonzi was a disaster in Portland. He goes to Memphis and we don't hear a peep. Sheed was a train wreck. He goes to Detroit and becomes one of the most valuable players in the league. Something weird is going down in Portland. Maybe it's the constant rain?

I have been wondering too....maybe it's pressure from ownership. They have been deep and talented for years. They had O'neal, and Zack Randolph rotting away on the IL at the start of their careers. Not to mention Shareef Abdur Rahim. That guy was never a complainer and a lock for 20 and 9 every night. Now he goes to Portland and disappears. Geez. Watch that guy end up on the Nets for the MLE and start averaging 20 and 10 right off the bat.

he's still putting up 17 & 8, so it's not like he's disappeared off the face of the earth...that team just doesn't know how to win & they have a bad mix of players (sounds eerily similar to our situation)...i'm not interested in adding anyone off that team that has a maxed out contract w/attitude problems coming off knee surgery...i'm sorry.

if you're interested in an offensive PF who plays no D, then Rahim would be the much more logical option.

I remember when the Blazers were down 0-3 to Dallas in the 2nd round. Two guys brought them back to almost win that series. Patterson and Zach. Zach average a modest 8 points and 4 rebs that season but he totally exploded in the playoffs. I remember talking about it here. I remember Briggs gushing over him also.

Now he's a huge personality problem, but he would fit perfectly here for one reason I can say: he's had microfracture surgury and the Knicks love guys with that on their knees.

The only thing that worries me about Zach, is his knee. If his knee is fine, he'll be great on our team. Have you guys actually seen him play? He is a beast on the block!! How could we not use him? All this team cancer bad attitude stuff just doesn't fly with me, alot of great players have bad attitudes and i think Zach can be a great player.

Good Knee=Good move
Bad knee=bad move

If there is a trade for him, it can't be in the summer, it has to be mid-season so we know if he can hold up or not.

Unless they work him out or something before making the trade. He's one of the best young back to the basket players in the league, period.
