It was reported today on MSG during the game that an assistant coach from the Knicks said Stephon Marbury is so badly injured in various parts of his body to the point he needed to shut it down awhile ago.
Knowing what the FANS have gone through we the unfortunate problems with Allan, why was Marbury allowed to continue to play after we were officially eliminated from the playoffs?

he is an integral EXPENSIVE part of the tam going forward, why didn't we shut him down so he would have more time to start the healing process for next year, instead of potentially making problems worse?

I think the injuries were a little overstated, they said he was having some problems with his toes and knee, and should of shut it down, but I don't think the extent of the injuries were as bad as they made it seem. I do think though that marbs should of shut it down games ago, for him to be playing is assinine!!! as briggs said, he is a expensive, integral part of this team... Why is he still playing, today ariza got a lot of run as did sweetney and they both looked great, they should have been getting a lot of time games ago....

Very good question there Briggs. In my mind, it comes down to 2 possibilties now because I dont think its Herb Williams call at all and it has not been for awhile.

1. Dolan wants Marbury out there no matter what to keep more people coming to the games because thats just the way he is.
2. Zeke has Stephon out there in a losing situation to teach him this is what it's like to lose every game and be a BIG part of a losing team for a WHOLE season.

Now I know teams do this becuase recently I saw that Sam Mitchell, the coach of the Raptors kept Chris Bosh out on the floor for 46 minutes of a blowout game to show him what its like to lose. This can have a positive effect of a negative effect on Bosh and maybe Zeke is playing the same mind games with Stephon? Just something worth thinking about. I for one wish that Marbury would be shut down so he'd stop playing 40 minutes a night and we lose some more games... we've 2 in a row dammit!

Maybe Marbury is a warrior and doesn't want to quite.

and what happens if he hurts himself much worse? its not about toughness, its about common sense.

Of course Marbury's a warrior. Hello? Have you balled in Coney Island lately? He would never take himself out of a game, ever.

Thus, this isn't Marbury's decision- either Herb (not likely) or Isiah has to shut Marbury down and tell him and the fans that it's not negotiable.

You're absolutely right on this one, Briggs. No way Marbury should be playing these games. It damages our lottery position, and it damages Marbury's ailing knees. No sense whatsoever.

I agree- he should have been shut down, along with TT & KT.
