...So trade Kurt Thomas and Malik Rose NOW. And I also think they both hace some value around the league. I'm not searching for an all-star, but for example, Kurt Thomas for S.Claxton+filler or 2nd round pick, and Malik Rose for Ruben Patterson would be a good solution to get rid of PF's. A lot of teams have PF's so we can't ask for much more.
Anyway I'm really happy with the 3 PF's I want to keep. One can defend and rebound, and the other two are good low-post players with one of them being a good rebounder. We might not be excellent at that position but I don't think we are so bad as so many people seem to think and we should not waste more time searching for a "little bit better PF".

I like Malik. It would hurt to trade away one of the very limited number of guys we have that actually shows effort on a consistant basis, but I guess he and Jerome are redundant.
Don't expect much arguement on Kurt if by any means you can snatch a late first rounder for him.

trading Malik is insane. Malik and JYD are not redundant, since really they can both play 2-3 positions, and it's a long season. We've got to move KT but that's it.

The current roster has KT playing center!

You can't trade KT unless you have something better to man the middle.

The way KT has been playing lately I would just as well stick Ariza there. I don't know what happen to KT' defensive skills over the last two years but he hasn't got it anymore. Maybe it is the extra money gut or something that weighting him down. I wouldn't let him go for anything less than a 1st round pick because no matter what you think of him or what other teams say or media guys says the moment he is no longer a Knick you know he will be the missing part...smart move. Still laughing at all the kudos that the Spurs got for getting Nazr.

Of course I assume Butler and Taft (if we draft him) will be playing center next year for us. I like Malik too, but we don't need him in my opinion. I prefer Malik over J.Williams but every single team thinks the same.

I agree, since you can never have enough guys like them. Why would we trade one of our only hustle players on this team? The more the better in my opinion.

I like Malik but he wants to be a starter in this league. The way it is looking, there is no way that he can start as our PF. If Isiah decides to keep him around, I will not be mad, but we have to trim that position to 3PFs. Personally I would retain: Mo T, JYD, and Sweetney. JYD's length can cause problem, and his versatility can be used at the 3,4,AND 5 position. He is a 6'9" PF, that is about 3 inches more than Malik......JYD is definitely a fan favorite here in N.Y., and the fact that he won't complain about playing time also sits well with me.......

I agree.

It's gonna be very interesting to see who stays and leaves. Mo Taylor, KT, Sweets, Malik Rose, JYD? That's alot of depth.....but if they were good the Knicks would be in the playoffs.

Dude, they are good, all four of them. I think KT's trade value is inflated right now around the league, so we should jump on that and get back something good. But that's not the real issue here. We NEED a coach. We haven't had an energetic, experienced, and fired up coach since JVG left. We are at least as good as the Wizards in terms of our roster. New coach first, then we'll talk about the roster.

I agree, that's why I have been calling for Isiah to come down and coach this ball club. Phil will not come to N.Y., and the only other coach that I would like is Silas, but I don't know if Isiah will even interview him since he was a Celtics. Who knows, If we get Z, and draft well he may do just that. Marb and Crawf need a mentor like Isiah on the bench to tell them what they are doing wrong during games......

You are crazy. They have 3 20 point threats at the 1,2, and 3. And they have 2 young athletic, 7 foot bigs in their frontcourt. Their roster is much better than ours. MUCH.

I totally think Isiah should take over the bench at season's end. He put together a phenomenal playbook his last year coaching at Indiana, and he was still a new coach when Bird fired him. With our present roster, a couple of smart picks, and Isiah on the bench - I'd be happy with that.

Other option - why doesn't anyone like Flip? Maybe next best thing to Isiah Phil or Larry.
