It's official, Isiah will be the headcoach of the Knicks next season. He will go through the draft without a coach and will declare himself the headcoach/GM and promote John Starks as the player personnel. He will draft a couple of big men and finally put his stamp on this lousy team. Marburry and Crawfford need a mentor and a voice to guide them, and Isiah is the right person to do so. He is very young and can definitely relate to all of those guys. Once Phil Jackson is introduced as the head coach of either the Lakers/Wolves/Cavs/or Portland, the other big news will be out of N.Y.

This offseason is not going to be an offseason for our Knicks at all, they will remain around and play and practice together. Guys like: Ariza, JB, Sweetney, Crawfford, Marburry, and the draft picks that we are going to bring in along with JYD, Rose, and Taylor, will all stay in town. Isiah will force them to earn their pay. It was an embarassing season and these dudes don't deserve any time off.

Isiah will assume control of this team and it will show next season.....Look for a total make over of the coaching staff also, because things will change drastically once he takes over.

I really don't see him coaching the Knicks unless relinquishes his role as GM. The reason I like Isiah as coach is because at least I know he'll play the young guys he drafts whereas if we landed the #1 pick Herb would sit him the entire season.

Syd,

Who will GM?

I think your being overly simplistic about things. Isiah is fine with Reezy not playing. This is Isiahs call.

Isiah Has proven only that he can mentor kids and take them to the first round of the playoffs. Thats his track record.

Isiah is better than Herb, that i agree, but shoot higher dude. Isiah works with these kids all the time, so they are getting mentoring.

Jermain and Artest did very well with Carlisle coaching them. They are going to be great players regardless of Isiah.

Thats not knocking him by the way, just not overvalueing Isiah's capacity. Remember, Donnie Walsh constructed the Pacers, not Isiah.

Phil will get his 10-12 mil a year and from a box office standpoint be worth every penny spent.
Problem is can Isiah draft and can phil coach them to a title in 3 years? How many starphuched trades must we do then?

I do believe that if Isiah was offered to come back for his fourth season, that Indiana team probably would have went deeper into the playoffs. I do believe that If Artest could have maintained his composure as usual, the Pacers would have been a force to reckon with...

I like that. But, I will call you all out at the end of the season when he proclaims himself as our headcoach. The decision will be as follow, he will either name himself as headcoach or Silas...

I believe Isiah wants to coach again but not in NY. I think he will make a big push to get Phil Jackson in here. Saunders I think has the best shot at becoming coach. He is a player's coach, he doesn't rock the boat and he is an X an O type of guy. I think Larry Brown is still trying to get out of Detroit. He will use health as a factor but don't be surprise if he talks to Isiah about waiting late in the summer to get something done. I also think a darkhorse is Chuck Daley. He was Isiah first choice last year to step in per Daley.

I still hope herb will be back, and if not I want a coach of the same ilk as a Rick Carlisle.

I think Herb gets a bad wrap about playing youth. Seriously, Ariza deserves to start over TT, KT needs to be moved to the bench. And I still feel Sweetney is just running in placeand not getting any better.

Next year, Zeke has to give Herb the security to play youth. If we are able to shed TT, Penny, KT, and Mo (wishful thinking I know)and take some potential players in the draft he will play them.

Enough with those old gizzards. We need new bloods to teach our young kids. McMillan has a pretty good chance also...But ultimately it will come down to Silas and Isiah...

Are the Wolves in a better situation then the knicks, they are capped out, spree may not sign their they are going to trade Cassel, so why go their

Why would fill go to the blazers, they have a pg who is undersized and can't shoot, no shooting guard, and zach randolf who cloggs the post doesn't pass or play defense, and ratliff who is injured....

If Cleveland gets a big time free agent mayber phil would consider, but seriously what are the chances of that happening, its still cleveland

The Lakers maybe he wants to be close to jennie buss and just get the coaches ransom, but no one wants to play with kobe

The Knicks suck, but if Sweetney loses 15 pounds in the offseason Crawford (play within himself) and Ariza each gain 10 and Marbury learns how to hit a clutch shot, that is 8 more wins right their, add a healhty Houston and a draft pick, with a nice role player for the mid level, and that 13-15 more wins with the right coaching, so their is hope........
