This year's draft is deeper than last year's from what I've heard. I think if people could go back now and re-do last year's draft Ariza would be a late lottery pick (12-15).

I believe that few GMs would drop him out of top 15. His shot while still a work in progress has improved, he shown to be an exceptional rebounder for a SF, a defensive presence and he's still a teenager.

Well I think you tend to undervalue some of our players and I probably overvalue some of them. Maybe it's somewhere in between at around 15 to 20. Regardless, he was a great selection at #43.

i'd say 15-20 range. no one can say that 20 players from this year will be better or better prospects than ariza...

he'd go behind Warrick, and Warrick is going to go around 15. Unless Zeke takes him at 7.

His health concerns combined with his lack of various fundamentals wouldve kept him back out of the top 20. There is a reason why he went 43 and even if he stayed in school, would NOT in ANY way have been a LOCK for a first round pick. This year is much much harder than last year IMHO.

If he had a jumpshot like Rudy Gay and no health concerns, he'd be a lottery pick, but he has health concerns and he doesnt have the J.

What health concerns are talking about? Just asthma? Lots of players have asthma (including me). Once the condition is treated, it's a nonfactor. He probably uses an inhalor before each game.

Thats a health concern. He missed the first three weeks or so of his freshmen year because of a collapsed lung. Listen, I like trevor, I like a lot of his game, but having a medical condition and no jumpshot is a big reason why he wasnt a first round pick. He has the physcial talent to be a lottery pick, but his health condition and his lack of a jumpshot and other fundamentals would not make him a lottery pick, last year or this year, case closed. We can say after the fact that he was a solid second round pick that has various first round talents, but it would be very difficult to determine if he would be a first round pick even if he stayed in school, maybe from 18-30, maybe not maybe 31-45 again. He cant shoot and he has health problems, that will make you slide.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the collapsed lung. He seems to have fully recovered though.

asthma!

Last month a friend of mine 14 year old had an attack and the kid died in the car enroute to the hospital. I don't know how she drove the rest of the way when the boy stoped breathing, she hauled ass but they could not revive him.

The Shit can kill yah. I had a bad attack at about the same age, but out grew it altogether.

I don't know the extent of trevors condition, but a 20ish pick is fair given he is not a complete player with some health concerns.

Sorry to hear about that death. Was that the first attack he'd had or did they already know he had the condition? Usually a fatal asthma attack occurs only if it's before the person knows they have the condition and they're not prepared for it (not taking asthma medication and they don't have an inhalor). I assume Trevor's taking medication and/or using an inhalor

Yes, trevor is definately taking a "hit" of his inhaler before each game as he put it.
I wouldn't be too concerned about anything fatal happening on the court though because I'm sure the knicks or any nba team has a great medical staff on-call, especially if they are aware that one of their players have a particular condition.

heres a link to an interview with Trevor on NYKway that didn't make it to air on the actual show. He specifically talks about playing with asthma
