Nazr Muhommad. If memory serves me correct, we were about 16-13 when he was playing at a high level and didn't have that groin injury and it seems like since then, it's been absolute downhill. Now, I am not saying he was our franchise player. In fact, I was all for trading him for the right piece, like Dalembert, and if we had him today, I'd be thinking that same thing to this day.

However, when he was healthy, I think he helped this team in a lot more ways then we realize.

I think that had more to do with the easy schedule early on. The downfall of the season occured before Nazy's injury. He's an okay backup C but I think Isiah traded him at the perfect time (when his trade value was at a career peak) and got a good return (2 late 1st rounders)

I think so too, but we had him when he wasn't hurt too and he was stinking it up out there. he was just an alright player, easily replaceable. He got alot of rebounds but could do nothing else, wasn't athletic, could barely dunk, and could shoot to save his life. hopefully we can turn him into Channing Frye in the draft.

That would be very good; he's probably going before #30, though.

It was an easy schedule, but we wont some games against good teams as well. And in the games against good teams we lost against were all close. I agree I think his role should really be either a first man off the bench type role, or to be a starting center next to a star PF type role. And from what I remember, the downfall began right around the time, b/c I remember the Knicks played Boston soon after Minny (We beat Minny, and Nazr had a big game.) and we were talking about Nazr's groin injury around that time. This was also, coincidentally when Marbury gave his "I'm the best PG speech." I most certainly give some credit to Nazr when we were 16-13.

I don't buy into the easy scedule thing. We beat playoff teams during that stretch and lost by 1 or 2 points to some really god teams like Detroit and the Heat. We also lost to some of those sucky teams. I don't think it was as simple as we had an easy schedule.

Nazr was a total nonfactor on defense...most of his points came off Marbury's penetration...the 1 thing he added was good rebounding, which we lost when he went down to injury...at least we got 2 1st rounders for him...he hasn't been doing anything over in SA playing alongside Parker, Manu & Duncan until the last 2 games where he put up good #'s.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Yeah, he was a non-factor except that he was a respectable rebounder.
