While, I know a bunch of you guys keep saying that the nets also forked over two number ones to toronto for Wince, but even the local bloids seem to be questioning it in some form...

Except:

It just didn't happen, even though to this day, the Knicks believe they offered more, starting with at least two from among Thomas, Houston, Penny Hardaway and Jerome Williams. The Knicks also were apparently willing to take Jalen Rose (and the $47 million left on his contract) off the Raptors' hands.

Instead, the Nets got Carter and didn't have to take Rose for a seemingly low-ball offer of Aaron and Eric Williams (both little used by the Raptors) and Alonzo Mourning (who departed via a buyout without playing a minute for Toronto). And they're still playing games that matter.

If the two number ones were really the determining factor, then Zeke should have a plentiful summer.

Or continue to be shut out of the trade carousel (the celtics hawk trade still reeks).

this is old news but apparently there was pressure from other GM's for babcock not to trade vince to ny b/c they fear he would've been reborn a star in our market.

it's tough to say isiah has been blackballed b/c he's made 15 trades already.

if you ask me i'd much rather have the package from NJ than the one Isiah was "allegedly" offering in that article...i just don't buy the blackballing conspiracy theory...the Knicks just didn't have tradeable assets...now they do.

right on, isiah has more transactions in 15 months than other GMs have in 6-7 years. right now he is known as the nBA's dumping ground for retreads with high salaries. 1-800-selltome will take anything and Will give you TOP dollar, no questions asked!

Yep, that had more to do with punishing Carter rather than black balling Zeke.

I agree. Him playing well in NJ is one thing, him playing well in NY is another. they didn't want to put him on that stage and let him explode.

Carter always wanted to go to a big market, therefore, the Raptors would have never granted him his wish. However, I still believe that Isiah is black balled. His competitive nature will never sit well with most of the GMs around the league, especially those with Celtics roots....

there's some truth to this- I don't think he's been blackballed per se- but, we did have garbage on the roster when he got here & he's gotten garbage back. We have had to swallow some god aweful contracts that no other team would take and I think when Isiah calls a gm, the other gm's eyes light up and he thinks, 'here's my chance to get rid of my overpaid bums'.

It is like many of you have said, next year will be Isiah's year to show what he is made off. I am sure that he will be a big player in this league for years to come....
