that is why i think he doesnt care where we sit 7-8-9, because he feels he will be there. hakim is an isiah type player hes long skilled with superior athletiscm[although we have been collecting non-athletic bench warners from other teams in the last 6 months].

thats my bet, he likes and drafts hakim

Warrick fits the same athletic prototype that all of Isiah's major decisions have fit (Marbury, Crawford, Ariza, TT). I actually think Isiah will use the 2 1st rd picks to get athletic players (either as parts of trades or by using the picks to draft players); so, I'd disagree with the idea that he's gone away from the plan to get more athletic in the last 6 months, but I think you raise an interesting possibility about Warrick.

warrick could be one of those guys that turns out to be a beast, sometimes we get excited with the idea of getting that 18 year old kid with great upside, but what is wrong with 21 year old guys with upside and a NCAA championsip as well... hakim is a superior athlete no doubt, he is a winner and he has upside, I won't be upset with this pic.

Neither would I. He's also probably more ready to contribute right now than a lot of other players.

Looking back at a last years draft, the bulls took kirk Hinirch, now that was not a "sexy" name, but he is a damn good player, and to me the reason why the bulls are much better, not because crawford is gone, not because gordon is comming off the bench chucking shots and getting beat on defense, no, it is because of Hinirch. I would take him over a lot of PG's including tony parker. Hinrich was a winner at Kansas,(although he didn't win a ncaa championship) he likes to compete, he is tough and defends... The knicks would do well to get a guy with that much moxy... I hope we do in this draft...

Hinrich glaring weakness is his passing right now, but what he brings to the court, I will take that. I think there are some guys in this draft that will be drafted late in the first round, but will be instant contributors..

despite being an NBA tweener, he's:
dominated his competition
played at a high level during pressure situtations
has improved his game on yearly basis
played in a winning situtation

These are good things for a guy coming in here. I like Warrick, and have for the last 3 drafts. Its pretty obvious Isiah is VERY focused on this draft. Maybe he's looking heavily at whats available at the 30 spot and 54 spots.

Now as much as I like Warrick and like him here I would be disappointed if we took him at 7-9. If we could somehow move up and come away with a big thats a whole new story.

I think Toronto would give up their 2nd #1 (around 14) if they could dump Jalen Rose's contract. TT or Penny + the #54 + #30 for Rose and #14. This puts Tor in a situtation where they will have $20mm + in cap space at the end of the year. This does MUCH more than save them $17mm because Rose runs one year longer. It lets them add a potential max FA or more before they have to resign Bosh, or take back more $$$ in a trade.

Then we can come away with Warrick and Petro in this draft... pretty good.

He's obviously not worried, but that could also just be his overconfidence... thinking he will score gold regardless of where he picks.

To deal for Jalen, we have to give up one or two of our PFs. Sweetney, Kurt or Taylor for Rose and draft pick

Warrick and Petro would be great. There are several different combinations I would be thrilled to walk away with in this draft. Unfortunately, none of them involve Fran Vasquez.

If Isiah feels that way, he should still want to finish with the best draft choice possible because it is a marketable asset for a franchise that has few of them.
