50mm $ for 7 years to be President and GM, to give him full reign of any and all decisions, thats where i would spend my money. Ill eat Zeke's$ and let him go coach somewhere. I have a lot of confidnce in Pat and I really think Pat would come back as GM/President with full control. Just think, everything Pat has ever done has been successful, he has never failed. Thats where I would spend it. Zeke is a mistake, he's just not for us. he doesnt understand nY, he's all over the place with his decisions. I mean in the real world a CEO liek that would be out on his can already.

Spend the big money on Riley.

in the real world, Dolan would be out too. too bad his dad won't pull the trigger. this is the most screwed up organization in sports.

I would take Riles back in a second, but why on earth would he walk away from Miami right now? sure, Shaq is getting old, but when he does retire, they're going to have so much cap room to build aroud Wade it's not even funny.

Riley is so smart about getting complementary players like Doleac, Anderson and Haslem on the CHEAP. he gives them SHORT, CHEAP contracts and if a guy like Rafer Alston gets too expensive, rather than re-sign him, Riles will sign Damon Jones on the cheap instead of give Alston $4million a year. Riles is the best at playing the cap game. It's all about waiting out the market instead of setting the market. So, while the Heat are paying Anderson, Doleac and Jones like a total of $4million, we paid Ward, Anderson and Doleac like $14 million. It's a huge difference. They have a PF like Haslem who makes $1 million, we have 4 old power forwards (KT, JYD, Mo, Rose) who make $6-8 million for a total of $30 MILLION. It's so stupid to overpay for bench players. this league is about finding hungry, effort guys to fill your bench with. Riles understands that.

I don't think he'll leave the Heat though. Hope I'm wrong.

give me back Riley in a heartbeat...this isn't even about giving up on Isiah for me...i just want Riley to come back to NY & finish what he started back in the 90's...he should have never left.

I think most of NY misses Riley - but he is with the Heat now and if I were him I would see no reason to leave - he has done a great job reviving that club and they could win the championship this season. What does he have left to prove in NY? He isnt going to coach the team, there really isnt a point to him returning other then to appease all the fans who miss him.

Riley left NY because Checketts would not relinquish full control of the team over to him...if he wins a title in MIA, what more does he have left to prove there? if anything, he may want to come back to NY & finish what he started here...you hear all this talk about Phil Jackson wanting to come back to his old team & lead them to a title, Pat Riley is in the same boat...you know how competitive those 2 guys are from the days back when Riley was coaching the Knicks & Jax was coaching the Bulls...what better way for Riley to trump Jax than to come back to NY & lead them to a title?

Dolan has never given anyone full control. He cares more about the bottomline than championships.

Riles wanted ownership. He got some in Miami. He would have to sell his portion. Can be done.

I just don't see him coaching. Hes got the money, climate, and a good gig.
