35. Ricky Davis
In three months, I went from thinking, "That guy will never, EVER get it" to "That guy is the most important player on a potential No. 3 seed." He's been an absolute revelation, especially since the Antoine trade – a throwback scorer who gets better when it matters. And he's only 25. Seriously, look it up. He's two years older than Tony Allen. Of course, that didn't stop ABC's announcers from taking shots at him for the entire Philly game on Sunday. Some guys just can't win.

i proposed several trades to get Ricky last season, but that idea didn't seem to go over too well w/most on this board...funny how opinions have changed about him now that he's playing good team basketball & meshing well w/in that scheme in BOS...i feel the same thing can happen to Jamal if we are patient with him & form a set scheme w/in which he can become comfortable...he's not a bad kid nor is he a purposely selfish player...he just needs to learn how to play under control, much like Ricky Davis did this time last year.

Crawford has been gettng bashed a lot lately on this board, but he's a good player. If he can be packaged for a better one though, go for it.

I think the difference between Jamal and Ricky Davis is that Jamal has never had run-in's with his teammates or coaches. I mean the Cavs thought he was going to screw up Lebron just by being there with his bad attitude. I agree with your take on Jamal though, he's not purposely selfish, he just has to realize that not every shot you can take is a good shot, you have to be selective. He'll learn, sooner or later he'll learn.

ricky davis is a good defender...i have no idea where you get the idea that defensively he's a bum...Doc Rivers has stated publically that he's their best perimeter defender, & he usually matches him up w/the other team's best player G or SF when he's on the floor.

Ricky Davis, Bonzi Wells, Darius Miles, go get 'em. If you want to lose and put up with punk ass crap and pay for overpriced mediocrity, those are your kind of guys. Thank god you aren't the GM.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

OK since both you and rivers say so, nevermind what I see with my own two eyes.. my bad.. OK retraction... Davis is a defensive stud!!!

I can tell you Davis is a much better defender than the 6'5'' 190 Crawford!

ricky davis is a competitor, i've always said we should've went after ricky before crawford. that was then and this is now. and now we have fans that prefer ny wins in lottery picks over regular season games.

when does the madness stop

He would make no appreciable difference on this team.

no one's saying he really would...just that a talented young player who everyone was very down on this time last year has been able to be an effective player for his team this year & helped them remain in the playoff hunt...there are parallels that can be drawn with Jamal's situation here.

Boston also has a no B.S. coach we don't so there's a good chance Ricky would be the old ricky here. We really need coaching stability. We need a hardnosed coach then we can take chances on guys like spree etc

You mean a younger Spree type of player, not the 35 year old version, right?
