He's the guy who had incredible athletic ability in the dunk contest at McDs. the guy who dunked two balls at once. he was very very good in HS and didnt play so well in the MCd game[either did amare stoudemire]as a lot of bigs dont, but this is a VERY intruing guy for our second 1. One big thing I look at for the PF spot is athletiscm and agility. I really beleive the 5 spot can be a player that doesnt need to jump over bridges, but the 4 spot is different imho. yes this kid is raw, but hes the ONLY kid on the board at his size with his agility and athletic ability. When I looked at who I thought could be first round picks, I was thinking MCroberst, Green were lotto picks and I thought Johnson showed the agility in the skills part to be a 1. Ive seen enough of Louis Williams to think that hes a back end 1.
In our situation, I would bypass a more established player for a guy like Johnson with pick 30 because I feel the risk/reward scenario at 30 is very favorable. Hes better than Andray Blatche, hes much more athletic and on first sight he reminded me of a young jermaine oneal.
You dont find many guys 6-10 235--which will be 245 that can move like that. I didnt expect this, but he becomes a very serious option
this draft will be unusual, because a lot of prospects may try to get into it because of the impending rule change. I dont want to just throw away this pick, this pick could yield something very very nice.

I saw clips of Andray Blatche and followed his HS career some. I was very impressed and like him at the 2nd #1 spot.

This is good news though... add another one in the pot. I totally agree about the value of this pick

I agree briggs about this kid, but one thing I dissagre with you on is amare in the MCdonalds game, I saw that game and amare looked like men amongst boys, scored when he wanted to, and when he did score, it was with ease and conviction, but on the other had, D'angelo collins went off in that same game, and look at him now..

I saw Amare Stoudemire in person in a HS game in NJ, and I was shocked. He was so big, so muscular and got off the floor with so much ease, I thought it was the second coming of Shaq. The guy I went with, who still is a Knicks season ticket holder agreed with me that he was much better than any player the Knicks had on their roster, and it wasnt close. Of course a 6-10 kid looks like 7-2 when he standing next to a 6-4 C, but in all of the hS games I have ever seen, I have never seen a player that resembles Amare Stoudemire.

Briggs, that's a great statement. I remember having the exact same feeling about Jason Kidd in the McD's game. He's the best high schooler I ever saw. He looked like he was playing around with middle schoolers and did exactly whatever he felt like at any moment he chose.
