Will he be there at 7?

Is he better for us than Chris taft?
Will he be able to have an impact next season?
Is he really as good as people are saying?

All good questions and now I raise the question. Who do you guys take if somehow both Taft and Greene are available at 7? The positives outway the negatives by far for both guys. I would go with Taft just becuase I've seen what he can do in college but then your possibly passing up on one of the more gifted 2/3s to come into the draft. It's a tough call.

yeah thats what does it for me. taft didn't dominate college during the regular season the way green dominated the McD's game. Then again Taft had a nice tournament but deep down I think you have to take Green because in the back of my mind Taft might not be that much better than Wilcox. Don't get me wrong...I would love Taft if both Bogut and Green are gone. if we land Taft than I will hope he turns into more of a CWebb than a Chris Wilcox.

I might be inclined to take Green because he is more of a freak, a rarer commodity in terms of his size at his position. That is what has me excited about green. The NBA and college are chock full of good PF's and I think we could even get one later in the draft. The NBA is not full of 6-8 athletic 2's, and that is kinda more exciting to me than Taft.

The question of whether he is better for us is another thing. Taft will be lucky to play with Sweetney,KT,and Mo Taylor in fron of him all of whom have polished aspects of their games. We are chock full of PF's right now, which doesn' particularly bode well for him learning by playing, but he could learn considerably by practicing against so many different types.

Green would probably be in the rotation immediately even if for only 5-10 mpg. We have a hole at the 2 and if Green can hit an open jumper, he is likely to see his minutes increase. I can't imagine that his D could be any worse than Crawfords, plus hes 6-8!

I think I'd take my chances on Green. Its a tough tough call though.

I doubt Green is there at 7 but maybe with a promise he doesnt work out for other teams.

Green over Taft... no brainer

Yeah very good point about freakishness of Green's abilility as a 6'8 sharp-shooting high flying stud. But I disagree...if the Knicks do get Taft at least 2 or 3 of our current PF's are history! especially kurt, sweetney & jyd

It is a no brainer, I would take Green in a heart beat. He may just turn out to be as good as Lebron....Never know...

NO WAY! Barring Lebron having a major injury - like one of his legs being amputated

I don't know about that but I think he can be better than McGrady and more of a clutch big game performer and that warrants him being a very high draft pick. I still think he'll go 2nd after Bogut. especially with Marvin's status slipping a bit. Marvin & Paul will go either 3rd or 4th in the draft.

Hey! Lebron is the man, but there is always someone better out there. This kid Green is about as big as Lebron. I don't know if he can pass the ball like Lebron can, but only time will tell. Is he as physically gifted???

he may love NY. If Amare worked out for every team he would have gone #2 before JW.

Also there's endorsment $$$ so the difference doesnt mean anything. I would think being here would have its advantages and we could have a good shot at him (if his agent says he's not working out for teams he doesnt want to play for, ei all of them but the Knicks)

Some of those guys are history anyway though. Getting Taft would make it more so, so I guess you're right about that. But for whom? What could/would we get?

If we can get Curry great!
If we can get Brand double great!
If we can Zach Randolp Great!

But who can we get with those guys? If we drafted Taft, we'd be making a trade to make a space for him on the roster because we'd have 6 PF's. We'd really be forced to make a trade, and that might not turn out good. Then again we do have some very tradeable assets so you never know.

the player's name is "Air Green". with Air Green and Air Ariza, we will have the Pippen and Jordan combo with a super PG to serve them...

Green over Taft. Taft is nice prospect.. but doesn't seem to be a game changer unless he develops more physically. Green seems to be more polished offensively, and his athletic ability is rare. Its not a stretch to say he would dominate college ball where Taft has had two years and failed to do so.

Green. Can someone please post the players slated to go in the first 5 picks in the draft? Bogut is a no brainer, but the big Russian will probably be 2, but who is 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8?
