here's an idea to get us some more trade assets to work with for next year's trading deadline:

NY trades KT
NY gets Atkins & Medvedenko
(we unload Kurt's longterm deal & get back 2 solid role players w/expiring deals...LA gets the more talented player & gets rid of Atkins who i'm sure GM Kobe wouldn't mind dealing)

C - Bogut or Taft :D / Medvedenko / Rose
PF - Sweetney / Mo T / JYD
SF - TT / Ariza
SG - Crawford / Penny
PG - Marbury / Atkins
IR - Houston / Butler

then you have expiring deals a plenty to work deals w/at the trading deadline:
TT, Penny, Atkins, Medvedenko along w/2 1st rounders in 2006

i imagine Isiah could work some heavy deals w/all those trade assets.

Not bad for us, but Lakers might want to use those expiring contracts to get a better player than Kurt.

if HOU would do that then fine with me...i just figured i'd offer something that hasn't been already discussed.

we don't have roster spots to be doing 2 for 1's, especially if we keep our picks.

? that trade works w/the current roster spots we have...Butler might not even make the roster next year either, so don't even count him as a sure thing.

We can just waive those two guys right away, not like we need them. Mabye keep Chucky as your backup PG, but def waive the eurostiff.

I would def do that trade, because that would at leat releave of one PF who does not fit the team anymore, and give us a reliable backup PG.

A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

I think the whole idea was to get two expiring contracts as trade assets. If you waive them, then you're basically trading Kurt for nothing.
