that our team (the Knicks) will select 5th in the draft. Isiah has finally given Herb the word to tank the season, and it is working as prescribed. It is good to know that they have finally realized that it is time to shut it down.

We will definitely select a big man with our first pick, but look for Isiah to do some crazy things comes draft day to get some more capable players through the draft. Penny will be traded for a draft pick and my man Malik and Kurt will also be traded....

Penny to a team with the need of cap space like Toronto for a true combo guard in Jalen Rose and a draft pick... What is so wrong with that???

Isiah is going to go to Europe again to scout on players, I have a strong feeling that he will pick a European player with the one of the two first round picks. If he could find a big man that could shoot like Dirk or Kukoc, it would be really nice..

Nothing's wrong with that. I had the same idea in mind actually. I think Fish was the first one to post that trade proposal

I don't know why some fans just can't see how much of options Isiah has in his availability....Last year was a little different, because he didn't have much to play, but this time around, deals will continue to happen all up until the trading deadline....Don't be surprised if Houston is packaged to another team with need by mid-season. After all, by then he will only have one year remaining.


My only concern will be who Isiah acquire as our coach, because so far he proves that he doesn't have a clue about who is truly capable of coaching our young boys. His choice of Lenny was truly a bad one, hopefully next time around he will do better.

i love how you leave out that little tidbit in your original post & Bonn coming over to lend you his support...birds of a feather flock together they say.

sure, taking on $17 million MORE in salary & getting a pick is feasible & i've even agreed w/fish's idea on the other thread...the twist seems like an easy enough dance to learn, but somehow i just can't get it down pat...can you teach it to me?

I just assumed that it wasn't even necessary to mention that any trade of an expiring contract would involve us taking back longer salaries and getting something good in return. So, I thought that was just implied in any Penny or TT deal.

okay; well a very simple rule is that any trade I'd ever propose with TT and Penny would follow the format above (where we get something good and a bad contract). I'm just assuming we won't get something good without taking back a bad contract. Now we don't have to make cheeseburger comments anymore. Okay?

there's no way in hell they get the 5th pick. If they're LUCKY, they'll get the 6th spot. if they're VERY LUCKY, we'll move up to the top three on ping-pong day.

but we're 5 games behind Portland with 9 games to go. There's no way in hell we catch them. They've benched all their starters. The only team they've beaten in the last month IS THE KNICKS!!!

obviously he's implying that the Knicks would be taking on another player w/5 years @ $20 million per for Houston's contract...come on, get with the program.
