I was extremely disappointed your dispute with Cablevision over MSG and Fox Sports New York could not be resolved before Opening Day. It is a shame your customers have to suffer because of your failure to reach an agreement. Please let me know what measures you will be taking today to address this situation. It is my hope you will be carrying the two channels before a significant portion of the season is lost.
Further, what was the rationale behind your company’s unwillingness to agree to binding arbitration? Considering you will be partnering with the Mets next year, such a precedent may be in your best interest.
Finally, you had promised your customers a two-dollar concession during the time you failed to carry these two channels. I did not see that concession reflected on my last bill. Please let me know whether you will be crediting my account.
Thank you for your most recent inquiry about MSG, Fox Sports NY and Metro Channels. We certainly understand your frustration with this situation.
Time Warner Cable is committed to providing the programming and service that our customers want. We will continue to work hard to resolve the MSG/Fox Sports dispute. You are a valued customer and we appreciate your continued patronage during this difficult time.
Please be advised the sixty games will be aired on Fox, WPIX and ESPN. Just visit our website www.twcnyc.com.for details.
You can also view Game day for live action and statistics on www.mets.com. and www.mlb.com.
Please stay tuned to the Weather Channel (channel 72) or TV Guide Channel (channel 51) for the latest messages which will appear periodically as a crawl on the bottom of the screen.
We’re rooting for you and hope to resolve this issue soon. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
With all due respect, I don't believe you when you say you understand my frustration, nor do I believe that you are truly committed to providing the programming your customers want. If you were, you would have addressed my questions instead of sending me this form response. Metro Channel? I didn't ask about the Metro Channel. I didn't even know you were fighting over the Metro channel. Is that something worth fighting for? Who watches Metro anyway? Why waste time on channel no one even noticed was missing?
Further, I’m insulted you would bring up the sixty games you carry on ESPN and WPIX as some sort of excuse. What does that have to do with the MSG/FSNY issue? I’m going to miss over 100 games. Don’t try to tell me that the sixty games you carry somehow makes it okay. What kind of logic is that? That’s like Scott Peterson saying “Yeah, but look at all the women I didn’t kill...”
And for the record, I know I can view GameDay. And I know I can visit mlb.com. I don’t want to do these things. I want to watch the games on TV. I don’t want to read about the game. I don’t want to listen to the game on the radio. I don’t want to go over to a friend’s house. If I wanted to do these things, I wouldn’t have bought cable in the first place.
And what is this about you “rooting” for me? Is that some sort of joke? That has to be the lamest attempt to “connect” with sports fans I’ve ever seen. If you really are committed to your customers, stop patronizing me and answer my questions. What measures are being taken TODAY to address the situation? Why not agree to binding arbitration? And where the hell are my two freakin’ dollars?
