There are like 6 pro prospects that can come out for this years draft from UNC alone!!!!

McCants, May, Marvin & Jawad Williams, and Felton

Illinois has 2 definate pros in Deron Williams and Luther Head. Dee Brown and Powell are right there also.

This will be war!!!!

Can't miss basketball.....people will be talking about this for years to come.

I guess I'm the only one who cares about this game, lol.

Well the game has been disappointing a little. Illinois has been doing everything wrong all night. Luther Head has been dry all night.

The 13pt lead is nothing.

I expect Illinois to come back in the second half shooting the lights out.

40-27 UNC at the half.

I kept telling myself I was going to watch it...yet somehow I decided now would be a good time to get writing 2 research papers.
I may tune in for part of the second half.
Anyone got any last chance predictions?

Sean May is money. Whomever draft this kid will have a lot of success. He plays just like Okafor...Trade Sweetney for the right of this dude if possible..

Sean May is a Sweetney sized guy - he's playing against an Illini team with ABSOLUTELY no size. May is not even as good as Sweets... Does anyone not remember Sweets from College? He was a 30 point per game type player... May is doing amazing in this game - against no one in the middle for illini.

Anyone else realize that McCants has done absolutely nothing? And Marvin Williams has been a goose egg in this game...

This college basketball game is gutty, but pretty much zero surefire NBA talent - there are no Okafors or even Ben Gordons in this game.

Sean May is way better than Sweetney. I think he has risen to a top 5 pick. he's been unstoppable all year no matter 7 footer or a guy his size, he plays with both hands, he seals off his defenders with his massive shoulders and has pinpoint accuracy and agility around the hoop. He's a big man, but his body type isn't Sweetney's. Mike needs to lose 25 pounds and go back to PF. this guy can play both C or PF in the NBA. His upper body power reminds me of shaq 3-4 inches shorter.

great game. Deron Williams was great, but Head missed a few wide open looks and Sean May was just too big.

I wonder if Sean May will come out now? He was saying he was going back to graduate, but he just won a championship and posted pretty much the same numbers his dad did when his dad won a championship. He also played himself into the lottery. And all his teammates are leaving. It'll be interesting.

Sean May is good because he does his business. He knows what he can do and he attacks the defense. May's fire alone makes him better than Sweetney. May is just so wide. His shoulders are perfect for inside play.

Sweets right now should have the 4 spot locked down right now since he has been given the opportunity to start. He has failed. What more can you do? Will he come back next season and win it in training camp? He has the opportunity to do it now.

I'm all for trading Sweets and get another draft pick this year. I'm thinking if we lose Sweets yet bring in Taft, Frye, maybe Gomes and Hodge(NBADRAFT.NET) from this draft.....who would give a sheet about Sweetney!!!

you put sweetney in that game, he would have won the championship too - anyone remember sweetney winning the NIT? the difference is sweetney had ZERO supporting cast and Sean May had 4 to 5 additional future NBA players on his team. May did not have any particular post moves that Sweets has or anything like that. Please, May would do the same in the NBA as Sweetney, or worse. May lived in the lane, which is illegal in the NBA, and only grabbed 9 rbs! May was straight fed the ball, he got about 35 touches in the game. Sure Mike needs to lose 25 pounds, but if you think May is going to start torching anyone in the NBA, you're wrong.

This title game just goes to show how stripped down the college game is - Dwight Howard would have destroyed Sean May in this game.

LOL! Sean May is Shaq with a good jump shot. He's sort of the a combination of the best aspects of Shaq, Ewing, Robinson, and Duncan all in one player!

Totally - everyone on this board has been on Sweetney's nuts for the past few years - I went to the Summer L before Sweet's rook year in the NBA when Sweets was playing and I could tell that he'd never be anything in the NBA - I've been saying that here forever - I can't believe we didnt trade Sweets for Curry. Sweets is like 6'6" and is a Clarence Weatherspoon Clone - same inside game, but same type of shot that is going to be the next "most blocked shot in the NBA" - not that Clarence wasnt a decent pro in his early years, heralded by some as the next Barkley, but the days of 6'8" NBA PF is pretty much done. Guards in the NBA are now 6'8"...

I agree about the game being stripped, but I think Sweetney is a good comparison to May. But use their size well and it may not translate on the next level. But Sweets was a lotto pick, with four picks to spare so why wouldn't May be a lotto pick?

I think it's funny that everyone is so quick to trade Sweetney for Artest or something, but then when a very comparable player comes along, he's not even a lotto pick.

I think Sweets is junk - he's had chances - done nothing really.

The NBA draft is completely stripped, just like the NCAA Basketball is stripped too.

I can't believe that Marvin Williams is being debated for the #1 pick - he should not be the #1 pick with his performance tonight...

I dont think Sweets should have been taken #9 that year - he did dominate NCAA Basketball, just like May just did, but their games do not translate to the NBA well.

I'm with you on the Sweetney doubting. I think he's a solid backup but we should trade him right now while he has a decent contract and some new car smell left to him.

But the Draft is not stripped. College may be, granted, but the draft Sweetney was in produced Lebron, Wade and Melo. And Bosh. And Hinrich. And Kaman. And Pietrus. And Josh Howard. the draft is still a damn fine way to build a team and most of the players are still from college, most just leave before they have a chance to reach their collegiate potential. If Marvin Williams played three years at UNC, I guarantee you he would average 22ppg and 8rpg. But NBA scouts know that, so they want to swipe him early. And what's he supposed to do? risk injury and screw up his career? I can't blame him for leaving early.

i meant the draft is stripped of numerous ready made NBA players - although there have been some finds in recent years as you pointed out.
