sold! but doesn't the Magic GM love Battie? They may want the pick, they have a lot more rebuilding to do and are supposedly trading Francis.

Hey, Francis, a point guard more maligned than Marbury.

no way dude...Battie? i'd rather have KT over him anyday...& throwing in Sweetney for a #13 pick is not worth it for me.

but that #13 could be Petro. Battie is a very nice stop gap. First I'll see if I could do better elsewhere if KT has absolutely no value to other teams which is very possible I would pull the trigger on this one.

Battie is a very good defender. He's a legit center and at this point if I can get the #13 for Sweetney I would do it.

I think at this point we HAVE to balance this roster and establish some style of play and identity. While Orl probably gets the end end on a talent scale this is the kind of trade that would help us.

I'd rather have the 13th pick in a deep draft like this one and Battie than have Kurt and Sweetney. I think the Magic would too. I don't think anyone's drooling over Kurt and Sweetney. It would take more than them IMO to get a lottery pick, even a later one.

unless the Knicks throw in the 30th pick. You know the one we got for that ever so criticized Taylor trade

FYI that $$$ doesnt work. You would need to make it for Cato to make the cash work.

I dunno. I'm not sold that this draft is deep. I wouldn't give up Sweetney and Kurt to essentially get pick 13 untill I saw someone on the board that I'd jump at....

Knicks get:
Tony Battie
DeShawn Stevenson
#13
#34 or 47 -which would be cheaper for us since 2nd rd picks are cheaper)

Orlando gets:
Sweetney
Kurt
#30

I think it would be great for both clubs. Both of the C they have don't compare in value to KT and Mike would represent a real solid back up to Howard. That way they can put Cato on the bench where he belongs. Howard is the inside presence who blocks shots and scores in the post and kT is a perfect compliment.

for us it gives us the ability to find a playing style, to get out of what we have been in for years.

Whether we edned up with a pick 6 Gerald Greene pick 13 Petro pick 30 Ager pick 53 any PG that slips or an unusual prospect like Deji Akendale who is supposedly coming into the draft at an athletic 7-1 240 and 20 years old.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=22857

if we were able to get two very athletic wings and two athletic 7 footers one 19 and one 20, that could change a lot of the dynamics going forward. Thats what we ned more than taking someone else crap, we need fresh young legs that can defend and run the floor, play defense, block shots etc...

but briggs Kurt and Sweetney make around 8mil combined. Battie only makes 5mil. Cato makes 8mil but would they trade him?

unless they have another player to throw in to make up the 3mil difference...

Like DeShawn Stevenson!!!!!!!!!!!

He makes exactly 3mil & could become that big SG we need!

stevenson
battie
#13
#34 or 47

WOW!!!!!!!!

I don't think they want to trade stevenson anymore. they did, but I doubt it now. Anyway, you have to count the cost of the draft pick which is 1.4mm+Battie 6.5mm and that comes within 15%

Cato i can do...at least he gives you that shotblocking presence down low who can bang w/big C's...Battie is a decent role player, but to give up KT & Sweetney you better be getting back at least a mid round lottery pick, or a shotblocking C at the very least w/the #13 pick...just my opinion.

I thought draft picks don't count salary-wise because they're still *unsigned* players on draft night. I could be wrong, though. I'm just a crackhead who knows absolutely nothing about basketball!

Briggs... it doesnt work that way. Draft picks have no $$$ value when you trade them. If you draft a player then trade his rights that also has no $$ impact, and you cant sign and trade drafted player, only veterans.

Its got to be Cato or like he said Orl has to include DS or equal $$$.

I would do KT and the #30 for Battie and the #14 however as another option.

I think Sweetney for Josh Smith has a possibility also.
