we should've kept acquiring as many players as possible that expire the same year or before allan houston. the summer of 06/07 would've been lebron, melo, bosh, and wade's free agent year (if they signed the qualified offer).

we could've kept using our draft picks and there would have been a plan in place.

jerry west put his shaq plan into effect 2-3 seasons BEFORE shaq became a free agent.

this organization needs that type of foresight. it looks like isiah wanted to get younger and more athletic but i think he got overwhelmed by the team and it's situation. the 06/07 summer is pretty much blown away thanks to marbury, crawford, kurt's extention, and malik. we now have to target 07/08 - it pushed us back a year but we need to have a plan like this put in place. keep getting draft picks and by 07/08, we'll have a roster full of 25 year olds with hella cap room. in the meantime, marbury would be star power enough to keep selling out the garden.
